I started a little but in a rush so towards the end of the day and i made a mistake… So i’m taking them off and putting them back on again. I keep making work for my self. Also i make a good start on cleaning some more roof tiles, a lot more to go though. In the next episode i meeting some other youtubers here in Portugal, what should be interesting 🙂

  1. …Jasper, Portuguese houses are not made by eye, nor are they crooked… what happens is this construction is just a storage room or corral…very old and with the action of time the structure of it gave way. Note, it is easier to sand the wooden beams before laying the roof…

  2. I don't think you've done enough. We here in the comments are your bosses and we demand more. I expect an update tomorrow with a progress report. 🧐

  3. Is it not wise to double the last batten to prevent the bottom tile from diving.

The pieces you are going to cut can serve to make the other side, you just need to handle them with care.

  4. Complaining about being busy, while making a video yourself (so not outsourcing) daily. The outsource guy would make one or two per week. Your editing probably takes 3-5 times as much time as the length of the videos. And it hasn’t been slow recently, it never really went fast over there. Let’s be honest.

  5. I don't care what others say, slow and steady wins the race in the end. Also, to rush construction is to ask for double trouble, and one always should take time for himself. People, me included, love your videos for yourself and the girls, so keep doing what you like, no pressures. Um abraço, amigo.

  6. Jasper re the tiles on the mini build. why not build out the walls with 4inch wide strips of concrete board screwed into the wall with concrete screws. You should be able to layer the board so that you straighten the line you need the tiles to lay on and give your mortar enough space and a secure base to connect to. Then plaster over the sides of these boards which are seen from below, and it should look like Facia down those two edges.

  7. Good job, I see you did some strimming, and you moving along nicely with your small building project, I do miss your nature walks, with the dogs, but you are very busy building now so I will keep checking in, I really like the natural wood finishes especially on the ceiling💜

  8. Hi Jaspers and team of hard workers. The tiles are done. Your glad Jasper to see the back of them, now it's laying time. Nothing is straight, even in a new build, I know, my walls are terrible. You have a life and some of your life is private. I respect and admire all the work you do it's an achievement. You moved to Portugal for a life change and life style change. All the above takes time and your a perfectionist, you like a great finished product. I enjoy all your vids, life's ups and downs….its real life. Better quality videos are nice, but don't forget the laughs and tears along the way. That keeps it real. Yes your famous, keep some privacy for your sanity. Even here at 9am it's getting hotter. I think this year we will see our hottest temperature 🌡 s. Get your sun canopy positioned and concreted in. Tarp down and pool out and filled, yous need it all. Plus a BBQ area…stay safe Jasper and friends.

  9. Just wondering, if those tiles over lap like they do to bond horizontally, then sure you can buy a starter tile which is 1.5 times the size of an original, this then solves your problem over having half a tile floating in the air so to speak. I don't know what you call these tiles in Portugal else I would have researched for you.

  10. Hello Jasper. Yes progress indeed. Nothing is boring that you do. It is all part of your daily planning and renovation. I find it very interesting. Every one gets the "keyboard trolls". You are not the only one. These people have nothing better to do. Keep up the good work Jasper. Lots of Love from Doris in Australia 🙂

  11. This is an amazing video and I enjoyed every bit of it and am also excited to share my investment experience for 2021, I believe it will help a lot of people here that are confused on how to start the new year and be productive for the year

  12. Enjoy your videos, I for one don’t mind your pace of work. You explain every thing so well! Dogs & walks are a + ! My oldest son is going to do the same here in the USA, he is older then you & not afraid to start over.

  13. Jasper , don't worry about if you are getting things done fast enough to other people's tune.. You do you at your own pace and time. Place is looking good though. Your friends didn't use any sunscreen , that sunburn is gonna hurt at night when they are trying to sleep.. Jasper have you thought about going down to where the water flows and make a swimming hole for these hot hot days? Every time you walk and go over the little creek/river and we hear the water flowing I think wow that would make a nice swimming hole to cool off during the hot days .. I use to live by a river and after cutting grass or doing other yard work when we would get hot and need a break we would go jump in the cold river to cool off and relax for a little bit before getting back to working.. Maybe that could be your next little project . Hey maybe one day you might could do a live q & a , or just to talk with your subscribers. p.s. That smile looks good on you!

  14. This is what you need to do to make that roof perfect. Not sure how it's called in Portugal, in Brazil we call it RUFU. You fold metal and make a protection under the tile and the wall at the edge of the roof.
