that, people, is a type of sloe
Amazing plot of land you got there, and you are nice and positive people I love that, do you have water on the land? Maybe someone already gave you an advice about it but I will say it any way as I belive you will apreciate in the future, our advice is that maybe you should cover the open spaces of the shed roof, or you will have lot's of wasps nests and other things, maybe spray foam could do the job, just an advice of course, if you any doubts and if we can help, please feel free to ask us, on our channel, good luck with all 😊🙏
Grass looks like it would be good animal feed

Ask for a translator .
Dude you need to build mustle for that work 😂
Loving the updates!! It's so much fun following your journey on the land. (I also think it looks like a plum tree in the video)😊 /Jack's partner
New sub Rob from Manchester, England. Good luck to you both and remember….." You gotta make it appen "
Awesome progress!!!
You needed to dig the hole for those posts a lot deeper than you did with these posts
It is a fig tree, that was with the grape vine.
Amazing to think how much knowledge and skills you’re learning each week. I couldn’t believe how many tools you have! 👏
Hope he licks his fingers as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣💚💚💚💚💚🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰
you have to build an outdoor shower
Guys, 3 of the most versatile garden hand tools I have found over the years working on acreage in Australia was a 'crowbar', 'Pick' and 'maddock' (all for breaking up hard dirt). A garden fork is also good for gardens. Love the vids.
Maybe they are "Nesperas".. loquats.
love your berkey! I have one myself in Florida in the usa. Cant wait to see all of your progress. Congrats!!
Bet that shower was good! What was it you made in the griddle toastie maker thing, the bread? That looked so yummy.
Just a couple of pointers on the strimming etc, Do it right down to the ground, snakes etc will still love it the length you seem to have left it… Also be careful storing the cut & dry hay… In the sun it can build to high temps & ignite, so if you're making a pile just be aware and do it away from your van etc xxxx
When you can invest in a full harness (goes over both shoulders, wear it similar to a waistcoat lol)
So nice to see two young people embracing the change to a new sustainable life, which is the future for all of us if we want to live as free men and women. I have been considering Portugal as my new beginning also. Sending you love and blessings x
wow, you are settling into the work. its lovely ti see you getting more confident and enjoying the great hospitality and kindness of your sweet neighbours. blessings and love.xxx
Looking good! IMHO very wise to make the tool shed a priority. I think part of the reason I enjoy your channel is you put so much thought into what you do before you do where so many don't. 👍
I don't offer much advice on the internet but if you are going to be digging many post holes in the future you may want to consider a manual auger type digger (despite the one you have looking incredibly new ; ) Your back will thank you. I know I wish I had discovered them when I was much younger. I use a Seymor Midwest but I'm sure there is something similar on your side of the pond.
Edit: Laura don't underestimate the value of the support role, the team is greater than the sum of its parts. And never let Dan forget that an army fights on it stomach and the cook is the MOST important role in the army. 😃
FYI- You can also eat the beet tops as well as the root . also you can also make zucchini breads and muffins along with lots of other goodies. I am a New Subscriber. Ninette Bird- the Caribbean Wife
Another great video and very funny love the fact Dan's got his prioritys right lol love you both xxx
Love your videos. Glad to see you making new discoveries on your beautiful land. The beet leaves are very tasty and nutritious, steamed or stir fried.
You're off to a good start! I follow several PT homesteaders, and you're the first I've seen to get organized with the shed and tunnel from the get-go! That'll really help down the road. Good luck to you both! (Oh, and that's a plum tree!)
There's a YT channel called Epic Upcycling, and he is a master at building practical things, including workbenches and shop storage, out of old pallets!
Be prepared for the winter, sometimes it can be brutal…
Do you know that rigth now its forbiden to use machines like the one you use to cut grass? Its like that everytime the fire risk its high.
Excellent videos. Can't wait to see how you guys come along on your new home. I live in the states and plan to retire in Ponte de Barca on my wife's family villa in a few years. We're building. home there. Good luck and stay cool. I was in Portugal June and it was excellent weather. I know you guys are baking now, Be safe, love Portugal.
Your fruit is a cultivated Sloe ( Blackthorn) , Abrunho in Portuguese , it is very sweet and the pulp is softer than that of a plum , you might also have in your land the small wild ones.
That looks like a plumb tree. :-). I agree, tool shed/work space is so important so that you can find what you need and keep your tools out of the weather.
Loving the vids so far, youve probably been told already but to make digging a bit easier one trick I learned from locals in the far east was to dig as deep as you can and fill up with water and work your way down that way. As soon as it's soaked and disappeared dig and carry on the process. Keep em coming best of luck from Shropshire.
Using the Picture This app, that tree is a European plum 🙂
Delicious 😋. Now the plate is cleaned 😁👍
Keep up the good work 💪 and the plates cleaned as well 🤣❤
Keep doing the great work, this world needs more of it.🤩🤩
Loving the way you put these videos together, very professional and entertaining. Loved every minute once again guys.
If your neighbour has animals, he will appreciate the hay
