Deed Signing Day! | I Bought a Farm in Central Portugal

The day has finally arrived! I never thought we would get here smoothly, but we made it. AND a whole month earlier than I expected!

Today I sign the Deed for the farm in Penamacor, Central Portugal.
I take you through my experience and what was done: from the Bank Cheque to the Deed signing at the notary office.

  9. From various videos I have watched on the subject of purchasing land in P is that it is best to hire a lawyer. The major reason is that YOU, the purchaser, will be responsible for any debts that the seller incurred and has not paid off. Nightmare.
    The lawyer will ascertain if the seller has outstanding debts on the property and can demand that they are paid off prior to you signing the deeds.

    Congratulations on your Farm Purchase, Christine.
    Please be very cautious and careful when getting work done on the house. Research and double check the builders credentials. And no payments until work is fully complete. And no final payments until fully complete.
    Seek some advise from Joseph Marsh.
