  1. It's ridiculous that the 2 men who benefitted from Elizabeth's troubles were also her primary accusers, both having specific reasons to elicit false testimony & "witness statements." Then, a relative of one of the men is the first to write about her "crimes" 100 years later. I wonder how much more he embellished the story to further improve his status.

  2. I know you are just going off of the history we are led to beLIEve is true but I don't buy any of it. We know for a fact that several chronological changes have occured just since the days of the New Testament. One of those modifications to our calendars alone was for 1,000. It's my belief they are hiding the millennial reign of Christ as king on earth somewhere in the dark to middle ages. Today we are living in the little season spoken of after the thousand year reign had ended, when Satan was loosed on earth and set out to deceive the nations one final time just prior to judgement. It's a bad time to be a baby raping, blood drinking psychopath!

  3. O, and yes, one other comment needs to be made; despite medieval peasant scenes, that antedate Elizabeth by up to 200 years, again the presenters of this video must be commended for presenting her, (several times), through the only known real likeness, a very attractive portrait, to my eyes, taken when she was, I believe, about 20 years old. Other videos have gone overboard in this area, one actually showing an early likeness of Queen Elizabeth Tudor, as supposedly, Elizabeth Bathory.

  4. Much impressed by this very impartial account, and also by the narrator's excellent pronunciation of the various personal and place names; my feelings about Countess Bathory's alleged crimes is that they were totally exaggerated, but that there was, most likely some factual basis of a much lesser degree; unfortunately, we shall never know for certain now. Bit, overall, a very good management of a difficult subject.

  5. I could see Lucy in Dracula being a sort of 19th century gothic wink to Elizabeth Bathory. I mean the scene where Van Helsing proves without a doubt that Lucy is a vampire leaving her crypt every night to feed; they pretty much walk in on Lucy feeding from a child…

  6. Thanks for a really good documentary. Was she cruel? Surtenly, but surely not the only one in those days. Was she demented? Most likely since she was heavily inbread. Did she murder 600+ and bathed in their blood? Most likely not. But she will continue to thrill our imagination.

  7. I despise racism etc attached to blood theories but recent fact…scientists prove that older mice injected with blood of young mice age slower and look more youthful. This could explain these sick ancient vampire tales. I think a sick rich noble might mass kill. Too many think women not as evil as men.

  8. Why is it that we learn all of this information after they die and “never” before. President KENNEDY was a good man. That is until he died. Then he couldn’t defend himself, so all bets were off.
