Exploring 150 Year Old Abandoned Farm House

We bought an abandoned stone farm house and land in Portugal.

In this episode we explore the main house on the property.

We’re Meraid and Dan and we moved from England to Portugal in 2021 to build a new more gentle and meaningful life in the countryside.

We hope you love this beautiful old house as much as we do.

We’re probably a little bit bonkers taking on this massive project. But sometimes you have to do what your heart tells you.

We’d be thrilled if you like this video and hit the SUBSCRIBE Button and join us on our big adventure to make this our dream home.
Thank you.

  1. You just showed me snippets of my " other " life. As a child spending my summers there, for myself ,it was such a big house in those days and so full of life. the dinning room you showed , at times there would be about 30 people sitting there , enjoying the delicious Portuguese food that would come out of that tiny kitchen , " a minha Tia " sure was a great cook. The room you call the living room was the room were we slept, and yes there was a sewing where my poor mother spent many hours making clothing, as she was a seamstress. Thankyou for bringing back to life the Memories of so long ago , the Good Old Days of Summer at the Farm.

  2. At age 55, even still very young at heart, it would take too many years to get it done. How many years left for me to kick back to enjoy? Just a thought 😁 for myself but I'm glad you are doing it. 👍😁

  3. Just wanted to say I absolutely adore your videos and the way you are documenting your journey. I love your natural style on camera and look forward to many more episodes to see how things progress. Wishing you every success and know that the efforts you go through to bring content is sincerely appreciated by this lad all the way across the globe in Australia (and – I am sure, many others who follow you both feel the same).

  5. Absolutely stunning house! It no doubt brought a lot of joy to many people for years when it was originally lived in. I am so glad that you will be restoring it. It certainly deserves a second life, and for some new memories made in it.

  6. The foundation of that house could have been there for thousands of years. Catholics, Muslims. Generations of struggles. Good years, bad years. Crusades. Empires.
I recognized the confession booth the moment you showed it

  7. Dan (or should I say Poldark), is getting to be a talented presenter. Absolutely loved this episode. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey with us. I LOVE where you have your morning coffee, hope to be sharing a coffee with you right there sometime in the not too distant future. Love you x

  8. Those jars glass are "clisteres" precisely what you said to alleviate constipation problems: full of warm water ,some salt and a spoon of olive oil…with some missing rubber pipe and the plastic tip ….very effective to empty the bowels 😄

  9. You've got yourself a stunning piece of property there. A lot of work as you say but it will be lovely to breathe life back into the walls again. So very lucky.
Looking forward to seeing you guys progress. 👍🏼
