FAILURE ON THE WETLAND | Portuguese Permaculture Projects

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. Today we try to get further with our Grey Water Wetland but…. It seems that i did something wrong.. The barrier fell apart.. Redoing it once again, this time right! Diana is continuing breaking down the wall and Renato does some more cleaning up.

Stay tuned for more building content and why not hit the notification bell so you don’t miss it 😉 thanks for watching!

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey & Akira we show you the rebuild of our house and what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. That will be me then!!
We picked up the wrong bags also….. cement on one pallet that only had a few bags left, the pallet next to it with the same looking bags, picked them up and didnt notice…………………… until we started pouring the concrete 😂
    I told you for a reason😂😂…… DOH!
    You wont do it again!!😆

  2. the young lady didn't have to work a lot or take shocks on her feet to imagine that only idiots wear shoes, I imagine that the camera will film when a stone falls on her foot?

  3. When you went down south (a couple of videos ago) , you pass by a place called "Castro da Cola" near Ourique , which is not far from I have my homestead . "Castro da Cola" is a bronze age archeological park , and has the remains of a Celtic castle , also a more modern church ,very cool place .

  4. Real talk! you have different mixes for different resistance (ciment: sand: rock)
    12MPa (1:3:4) – used for cars
    15MPa (1:2:4)
    20MPa (1:2:3)
    25MPa (1:2:2) – used for buildings

Leave it curing/drying for 21 days and don't take the woods before this time. Use at least 1 to 3 iron bars.
    Good luck 👍

  5. Beautiful stones would make a nice wall in the garden somewhere, excellent work Diana, sorry your cement crumbled better luck next time, Renato is a tidy guy and a great worker too. Thank you for a another great video.x

  6. Don’t go crazy with the plants you’re going to put in the surge pond. Remember there’s no organics to treat, but if you go crazy with the plants you risk stripping the O2 from the water and it will go septic eventually. You just want this “pond” to hold higher than normal surges in water and you want to be continually feeding the water to plants

  7. Concrete needs aggregate around 16-18mm size not just sand and cement ( + water ) also it needs to curing slowly and do not allow it to dry quickly …you are in fact a complete bodger and you should have someone with you who knows what they doing , your work generally is terrible …sorry but someone needs to tell you ( no offence intended )
