The quinta was previously used to raise sheep but I have been planting trees and letting the land rest and regenerate while I have been here. There are many productive olive trees, fruit trees and also cork oaks.
There is a lot of wildlife on the land and while I have been here I have seen eagles, hawks, vultures and many types of smaller birds.
The house, which is part-furnished needs some renovation, but is perfectly good to live in as it is. I will also be leaving some tools including a rotovator, hedge cutter, petrol brush-cutter, water pump, hose pipes and hand tools.
There are storage rooms at the back of the house which can be renovated to be guest rooms or for rural tourism.
The house has municipal water which is completely free of charge.
Electricity is connected and I have excellent 4G connection. It is not necessary to get an extra internet connection and I just tether everything to my phone which is sufficient for downloading, watching Netflix etc.
There are 2 water storage holes which are sufficient for watering trees and the vegetable growing areas.
The land is about 10 minutes drive from Gomes Aires which has a couple of lovely cafes, a post office and a small shop. You can use a post box there free of charge to receive mail.
Almodôvar, a charming little town is just 20 minutes away and has two supermarkets, a medical centre, leisure centre and many shops, bars and cafes.
It takes me about 45-50 minutes to drive to the Algarve shopping malls using the IC1 road. Using the toll road is a bit faster.
Faro airport is just over an hour away using the toll road.
