Farmhouse Reno Week 7 | Roof Completion Huge Milestone | My Central Portugal Farm #49

Week seven of the renovations at the farm! A whole lot more rain and eventually 2 days of sunshine, just enough to finish the roof tiles and complete this big milestone. I’m feeling really great as it’s all coming together!

About Girl Meets Farm:
I’m Christine. I started this journey in search of my forever farm in Portugal, and now I have found it!

This is my adventure as a solo expat on a farm in Central Portugal with my two fur-kids, Shakti & Shiva.
I’ve never owned or lived on a farm, but moved to Portugal in the hope of fulfilling a life-long dream of finding open space, subsistence farming and a safer, better life.

Now that we have found our farm, the second stage of our journey begins!
I have to figure out farm life while renovating an agricultural structure to make it habitable and turn it into a comfortable home for me and my furkids.

Thank you for joining our journey!

  1. Many tanks for this video, the work is progressing very nicey. I was wondering if they do insulation of the buldings from outside and also roof insulation? Are you going to have any? I can imagine that during the winter it can get quite cold at night and what would be the solution to keep inside to house warm?

  2. Hi, Christine. What a lot of work achieved. Your now water tight. Looking forward to your next progress video. Your smiling ear to ear, I can see your joy. It might be all done by NewYear….. stay sane, stay safe. Have a good weekend.

  3. I'm jumping with Joy for you….a comfortable place for winters, awesome news. However, is there any way to brighten up the room? Sunroof? Will the room get darker if you wall in the office? Just some thoughts came up.😁

  4. Great progress! Just a thought…there seems to be lots of useful material in your rubbish pile that could be saved for your future projects. Maybe a day sifting through and keeping some since you have paid for the stuff, seems a shame for it to be taken to the dump?

  5. Wow! Christine, the place is looking amazing! So good to have the roof on so the work can continue uninterrupted. The house will be so gorgeous when it's all done. I can't wait for more! So exciting!🙂👍👍

  6. Congratulations, Christine!
Your building team achieved so much this week. We'll done!
Roof is looking great and glad the plumbing and electricity work inside will be able to continue, despite rainy days expected.
Can imagine how much you are looking forward to your completed project, and mainly the bathroom😊
Sorry we couldn't be there for the traditional 'roof wetting' 😀
All the best for the week ahead. Can't wait to see the next completions😊
