Impressões duma viagem a Faro

Impressions from a voyage to Faro

When I was in Faro for the first time, 17 years ago, I already liked this southernmost town and capital of the Algarve, but I had only some hours time. This year, I had much time, nearly a day. It was the beginning of a longer journey, and I enjoyed the time in Faro very much. It is a town where you can find a lot of picturesque places to take pictures or to film something. And that’s what I did! I went to the cathedral and to the railway station. There, I was very astonished to see the railbus CP class 0600/0650, it looked like an East Coast commuter train that I saw in films from the 70ies (what I want to say is: they look very exotic to me). And I always loved railbusses like the German VT98 “Uerdinger Schienenbus”. 🙂

For those of you who don’t have time and who just want to see the Portuguese trains, there is a short version of this video, “Spotter in Portugal”:

  2. @LZFILM
    >declaring whole quarters to historical monuments where it is forbidden to change something (like in >Germany where people have to live in a kind of film set all the times)

I have never really though of that, I imagine that would be somewhat surreal. In the US it's always chunks of land, or nature preserves, that get the protection of the government.

    >(but it's comfortable inside!!!)

    And that's what matters!

  4. Faro does indeed look like an amazing place!

A blend of old and new world that is almost seamless!

Captured by a master film maker! Scored and produced with the trademark LZ Film look and feel!

Straight to my favorites! Truly amazing work here, Lars!

(I like the edit in and out the train near the end! Plus…the ladies!)

  5. Hello Lars, I loved the opening shot out the plane window… such a great way to start the video! Also enjoyed the editing in this.. very energetic.. and great shots of the scenery as always… hope all is well
