  1. Catching up on your video's, the insulation factor alone would sell me on those roof panels, install speed also a plus. Your concrete & metal angles were spot on. I say it everytime but you are a heck of a team.🍻🍺🍾

  2. Hi Paul here ,been living in Spain for 22 yes ,5 yrs worked with builder put the same roof on my shower and store room without the roof tiles , and my large car port , could not believe, how cool in the summer and warm in the winter , in my opinion 100 percent the correct choice, love you all and content ,never miss one , did similar on my villa 20 years ago form Paul just a DIY one man band x

  3. Great job!
🍇Andy, will we get to see you taste the grapes from your property this year? I remember you had a vine near the dry creek/water tanks – since it was not a row of vines I'm supposing they are 'table grapes"?

  4. Congratulations for your content, it is very interesting to see the process of remodeling a house, I would like to emigrate to Portugal in the future and buy a property and remodel it myself, your videos help me a lot, thanks and greetings from Mexico.

  5. Nice roof…and cheap to make. Just make sure you add another layer of insulation underside and wooden planks to cover it so it looks rustic from inside. It will lower the rain noise too. Τhere are types of this roof that have a more rustic, two tone color that mimics old tiles…but I guess it's a matter of taste.

  6. Great job! On holidays in the area this week and have the opportunity to visit the country side on a tour today. Looking forward to seeing lots of the villages that you mention. It’s so beautiful here and the people are so warm and welcoming. Thanks for sharing your journey.

  7. Curious if that will be the final finish. on the ceiling. Interesting product- how will you flash the Last roof against the side of the building? why no sealant or construction adhesive were the panel meets the concrete top of the wall? I actually thought the part you roofed over was a courtyard. Will you come back with real roof tiles and cap the top of the panel with some mortar and tiles as a ridge cap? Swamp coolers would work very well in your climate- With your stone walls. Vent near the ceiling- you need to have the swamp cooler and then a opening on the other end of the house for air to pass through- If you have a water supply they work great- we use them in our warehouse.

  8. So your now wearing a sun hat from Austria…good idea stop sun cancer. Now look at Austria and roof colors, it is now against building codes to use Dark Color roofs like you have just installed. Just think if you used a white roof the heating on that roof would be reduced by 50% in the summer, just for changing your paint choice. Maybe in the winter there will be a heat gain, but I think your summer heating concerns are greater. Small choices can have huge benefits. Remember the fall off the roof never hurts, its the sudden stop.

  9. Hi Andy nice job on the roof quicker with those long insulated roof panels.couldn’t wait to get home to see your video iv been in hospital for five days had a new knee that’s thirty years of building taken it’s toll.

  10. Andy, the new roof looks amazing, I’m looking forward to seeing how the light in the house will develop as you move forward. Take care in the heat! Laura 🍻🍻🍻

  11. Fab job Andy you guys are making it look easy though I know it's not , as you say worth spending the time getting the ring beam right .
We are seriously considering using these on our ruin . We are in central Portugal and not sure the camerá will approve of this type of roof for us ! Did you have to go for a project architect/engineer's etc ? Any help or advice is appreciated .

  12. I also like the look of the new insulated roof, most people will not be able to tell the difference let alone see the outer roof itself, so all's good, and it probably will last must longer than a tiled one.

  13. I will have to re roof my old Quinta at some point soon and will defo use these panels .The existing roof is around 50 years old now and many of the biscuit fired clay pan tiles are now in poor shape and cement beddings and edges now badly weathered and cracked ..the eucalyptus roof beams are fine but the bamboo has plenty of bugs and insects in residence that keep the Gecko’s fed !No leaks yet but it will soon !
After a couple of years of Verdi Gris and moss growth your roof will be just like all those around .And the insulation values far better .and the weight on the rock walls far less .yes times change and we need to move with them .If these panels were available originally that’s what would have been used .Granted historic buildings should be maintained as originally built but I can’t see why simple domestic dwellings should not embrace new and more efficient technological solutions .And let’s be honest traditional Algarve roofs do have a tendency to leak ! And need constant care and attention .

  14. The roof system is brilliant – fast to fit, looks great…. & with built in insulation. What’s to dislike? Unlike the traditional roofs this system will remain waterproof for a long time, unlike the traditional tiles that slip and leak relatively quickly!!!

  15. Yes it is not very healthy to work in the heat. Here in S France it also has been between 32 and 38 for 2 months now.I manage to work from 0530-1100 and then a prep/cleaning session at 2130.
Love the roof ,been looking at those panels for a bigger work shed too.Any idea on how long they last…I only seen then around for 5 years but I may be mistaking.

  16. Talking about heat but you don't get up till 8?! Tsk tsk. You should be starting work at 5 which would give you a good 6 hours work time before it's too hot to move. Yes, I did do a stint of starting at 5 when I went out with the sheep shearing gang. 5am till 5pm, an hour off for lunch. The shearers are all working flat out because they are paid per sheep. We workers 'on the boards' have to keep up or get yelled at. Back at the hospital 6.45 am start. Still, I can see why you would use the roofing material you did and why not. Maybe it won't last for centuries, but … Thanks for the vid

  17. Hi Andy, the house is really starting to come together, looking good. I am so glad you like the hats, I am sure they will keep you face and neck protected. I should have sent one for Declan as well. Helen
