Floods in Portugal//WATER EVERYWHERE! The rain jus doesn’t stop. Are we able to leave our land?

From one extreme to another! Life in Portugal is a challenge!

If moving off grid isn’t challenging enough, the weather is making it extremely challenging.
The many heatwaves and extreem drought causing many wildfires, was a nightmare to the country.

Now we finally have some rain, and it just doesn’t stop. The last few weeks has been extreme, the amount of water coming down causing severe damage to the country. Many city’s are suffering under the floods, it is devastating to see.

We feel blessed living in the country side! Our land is build to deal with this amount of water and there is minimal damage. The lower terrace is flooded but is build to be that way. In the near future there must be a pond there! Our road is currently the biggest challenge with the extreme amount of water on the land.

Bionda had to leave the land just after the rain, will she be able to go?

  1. The biggest visible indicator that Dutch is improving is that he has the curl back in his tail. As soon as I saw that I knew he is on the mend. When they are very sick a curly tailed dog won't generally carry the tail up. Good to see.
Wishing you all a very blessed Merry Christmas. 🎄🕊

  2. Wow, that's lots of water💦… I hope it will be better soon. At least it looks very green😀💚.. Glad to see Dutch is feeling better..🙏🏽🐾
Love from freezing Holland🥶😂🐾💃✌⛄ Joyce & Hippie 🎄

  3. wow that is a lot of water everywhere but at least you can see how it moves and where it builds up, and where not to build any structures, also might be a good idea to build up the sides of the stream for future winters, glad Dutch is feeling better ☺

  4. For now, is just a old normal winter, not a harder or a brutal winter… you guys and others didn't prepared properly for winter… Now is a good moment to see/study the characteristics of your land in the winter, (places of more water, frost, floods, humidity, wind, etc..)

  5. Too bad you all have to deal with another extreem in the weather.. guess one good thing that can come out off it is that you are able to locate all the "weaK" spots on your farm and work around it of change things around, although the longterm outcome won't be unknown immediately. Pray you all stay safe and for the weather to clear up as soon as possible, so you can start the rescue part and live again…with Christmas so near that would be very nice.
