One rule you must know as a traveler if you are going to Colombia. Every woman or man there knows someone that can take your life or a friend that knows someone that can take your life. Just be street smart and try to have your fun. I would recommend Thailand,Philippines Dominican Republic instead if people want to travel for the first time. Colombia and Brazil got them big cheeks but there’s risks.

Notice all of these people are getting drugged always have alcohol involved 99.9% of the time. Remove that poison from your trip and have a better chance of staying on top of any possible situation by being sober & on point.

It does'nt surprise me about Columbia. I remember what went on there during the cocaine wars. There are some very grimy hard living people where human life isnt worth much.

I am quadriplegic an use an electric wheelchair an I have been living in medellin for 4 years and I would say if you deal with sketchy people you will find problems, but if you deal with good people you should be fine…. and just use common sense…….my next move is to live in Bangkok

I went to Colombia as a second trip a few months after Brazil. In the second day there I was walking around Medellin (I think the Main Street of Pablodo) and I went to sit down on a bench to chill. I was sitting for maybe 20 seconds when a guy on a Motoconcho rode up on me. He scoped me out but luckily didn’t rob me. I think because I was dressed down. Medellin is beautiful and still my second favorite city (after Rio), but it’s simply too dangerous for me to live in. I felt like I couldn’t relax.

We need more brothers coming home in body bags in order to get the word out that Colombia isn't a joke.

It's too many easy Gringo targets now which has made spots like Medellin extremely dangerous. I've been going to Colombia for years but the vibe is definitely different now. I know a couple travel vets that got caught slipping this year.

Been to Colombia 3 times. Don't disrespect the locals and don't go there being flashy and you will be fine.
