  1. I agree. There is a crisis in the building trades in Portugal which is a shame as this is not the case in Canada dealing with Portuguese construction companies. The reason why they dissapear after a few days is that the emphasis is getting deposits from other projects instead of completing and moving on. There is so much work in Portugal in the trades.

  2. So if builders in Portugal conduct business like this, would it help to line up 3 or 4 building companies, and fire them faster, and then move on to your next choice? Or are you limited in choices, like in rural areas here in the US?

  3. House remodeling and car repairs are a nightmare in Portugal, and I blame the authorities since there isn´t no proper surveys and
inspections to this amateur business, so my advice is always ask for a pro-forma invoice regarding the final cost and deadline and if possible sign a contract with penalties if they miss it.. you will struggle to find a business willing to do it, as they have so much demand they can chose which jobs to take. I´m currently doing some remodeling in my house for the past 2 months, all by my hand so far.

  4. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work. As you are finding out this is pretty normal over there and you need to keep on them. You will have to supervise or take it on yourself.

  5. So excited to see you guys do the work yourself. I think it's going to turn out great! We're going to be renovating a home in Portugal so we're especially going to be watching and learning from you guys.
