How Did We Get Residency in Portugal? – ASK #1

How are people like us (originally from the UK and Australia) able to move to Portugal and buy property? Do we have to have dual citizenship or do we have to give up being British? How can UK citizens move to Portugal after Brexit and how did we get our residency? We’ll address all these points and more in the first video of our new Q&A series.

  1. I'm so happy to see U again! I was following You at Echo & … Loving it! Please: next time you change name. Let "us" know where to find U. Keep up with the good work… One of these days I'll drop by to taste your liquor and wines…

  2. In the 1980s I leased my first home in Orange County, California to a roofer by the name of Mario Meza who specialized in roofing tiles. He brought his ‘seconds’ and damaged tiles home with him and edged all of the beds like yours Kylie. Great (and conserving) minds think alike!

  3. Your area of expertise? Walking, talking and providing clear commentary. Unlike most British people I have spoken with, you don't get all pedantic. Kylie doesn't either, but that may be due to her Australian roots.
🇨🇦 As someone in basically the middle, I appreciate people who are open and forthright.
Thank you both for providing insights on Portugal and stone buildings.

  4. Savings is sufficient toward a D7 Visa, you just have to prove that actually withdraw from savings like it is your income for at least 3 months prior to applying for the D7.

  5. Great video. Now the UK has left the EU. You needed to replace your original residency paperwork ( pre brexit) for a new post brexit paperwork from sef. ( portuguese border agency)Have you done that? . It is all done online.

  6. We are lucky that we moved from Argentina to Australia in 1982 , we became citizens in 1984 and we are now leaving the dream in 44 acres ..our retirement life is great!

  7. My wife is a Portuguese citizen (25 year married). We want to move there, but I don't speak Portuguese and am a British Citizen!!!! Am I screwed?

  8. Love the Q&A Mondays you started…I enjoy watching your channel and have been watching you since you purchased the property and started renovating it…and you had another name then..lol..keep up the good work and also your sense of humour..from this old Canadian fan.

  9. G'day again from downunder guys.
Like the new format, easier for you two and more content for us. Have you thought abou sending any extra lettuce from your garden to Queensland? In some areas people are paying around AUD$13 for an iceberg lettuce. Could be a nice money spinner hahaha. Keep up the good work 👍

  10. I love your channel. I was born in Portugal, but moved to the US with my family at age 3, so getting citizenship in Portugal would be so easy and so tempting. Now if only I could make a successful YouTube channel, lol.
