The Investor Residency Bond Program (IRBP) was established in 2012. The Investor Residency Bond Program does not have any set criteria for applicants in terms of personal net worth or management experience. However, the Hungarian administration officers reserve the right to request an interview meeting with the applicant, which can be exercised at random.

The processing of the residency application is fast, residency is obtained within 3 to 6 months. There are no physical residency requirements or interview. Holders of Hungarian residence permit can travel visa-free across the Schengen countries. Hungarian passport holders can travel visa-free to more than 130 countries, including Canada, United States, and United Kingdom.
