How I bought a home in Portugal in 30 days on the outskirts of Vieria de Leiria in the region of Leiria. The property is an old 1937 built three bedroom house with a small plot of land and a well that I intend to turn into a small forest garden, growing as much as my own food as possible and of course giving a good home to some chickens to help fertilise the soil as well as producing eggs. I am going to use the practices of permaculture, so I will be making my own compost as well as bio char.
The house and land is in need of some major renovation although it’s a well built home that does not suffer from subsidence. Follow me as I turn this house into a simple Portuguese homestead.
