I interview Alex from Canada who gave up the corporate life to travel the world. Alex had a cushy job, a house, a car and by all accounts was doing well in life. However, Alex felt unfulfilled so he quit his Netflix job, packed his bags and he’s currently traveling the globe. He’s been in Thailand for the past 3 months and plans to move on to another country next month. I interview him about his life in Canada, Thailand and his future plans.

Hi Steve,
Can a Canadian enter Tailand with Visa exception to trasfer a non-immigration visa in Tailand?
Excellent as usual Pete
Great guy.
You should try and get an interview with Edward Sweeney (Steady Eddie) Pete. He’s in Bangkok atm and he’ll be there for a bit!
Another good vlog Pete. I had been following Alex in Dec-Jan when I was over on holiday and found his advice on Test & Go, etc. very helpful. Nice guy. He actually did the things I had been been thinking about doing… Kudos and best wishes to him.
The World Cup wasn't in Brazil until 2014. Just saying…. Great video!
Great video! Please ask more about the way the make their money online. It's so interesting to hear what they do. You wouldn't hear about these things by reading blogs
Yeah, Alex is living the life! “In order to travel you need three things – time, energy and money – “never in your life will you have all three things” is the best thing said ever! I love hearing these stories and how people “find themselves in Thailand” (it sounds cheesy but it’s true I guess). Really cool guy @Living Abroad! 😎
Onwards to 10K in a week!!!! 🏆
Alex is smart to own a home in Toronto if he has to sell he will get a big windfall prices are skyrocketing there.
I think so many YouTubers here in Thailand can relate to this. Its the push we need to get out here and live our best life
I have changed my plans of moving to Thailand. I have mentioned it before . I have a great job a great house. A thai wife who has 2 houses in Thailand and vacant land . All in Isaan I might add. I am lucky . I do imtend to spend end of days in Thailand . But for now no way.
One of the things not often mentioned on why you want to live in Thailand is, it's often a complete break from the petty politics & materialism of your home country. It's a simpler life on many levels. People don't care about what you do for work or where you went to school. That's refreshing. When you get off the plane you are free of all that baggage.
Great video! Alex is right, if you wait until you retire to travel you won't have the energy or fitness to do the things you would have done when you were young. Money doesn't guarantee happiness.
Wow Alex has a lot of energy. Follow your dreams thats how it starts. See where it goes.
You deserve 10Kplus subscribers. After that 20K plus. Great content Pete.
If you’ve got the $$$$$$ do it buddy….
You should try interview a few people that quit their 9 to 5 to go live the dream in Thailand but their dream turned into a nightmare.
One such person is Martin from Australia, quit his job, sold up and moved to Thailand to escape the hamster wheel at mid 30s.. And now, approx 18 months later, finds himself having to decide whether to give up and go home and jump back on the wheel or continue with trying to make it work in Thailand with reducing his monthly budget from 50,000 to 30,000.
Watched one of his vids today and apparently he has chewed through over 2 million baht in the past 18 months with trying to make it work in Thailand. Check his channel on youtube…"Martins Thai Life"
Alex has his head screwed on with holding his home and investing for his retirement, its sounds like a great idea to escape the 9 to 5 to go live the 'coffee on a balcony' lifestyle, but the reality is, you do need some financial security behind you.
After living in the U.K. for 11 years, I am moving back home to Thailand this July.
Another great interview Pete. 10k coming soon!!! I also immigrated to Canada at 4. I also escaped the Toronto area to live in BKK 🙂
Did the same thing. Living in Thailand now 😇🙃
Another great interview Pete. This guy has it all. He's doing exactly what I'm afraid of doing all my life. Im nearly 60 now and I'm still afraid of making the great discission that hes made. This is a great guy, like you, yous have it made. And do we need money to live we don't really need to much of it. Enjoy your life lads ❤️🇮🇪
I left Toronto in 1996, and been in Bkk since.
Welcome to THL.
Great interview, I totally get what he is saying being fromCanada myself.
Toronto is a very expensive city. His income was not suited for comfortable living
super interesting interview!
Interesting Interview with an intelligent person, who know what he wants. 🙏
Love watching your videos. The thing about these videos is that you can see a little in yourself and relate to a lot of what your interviewees are saying. Keep up the great work.
great interview & inspiration, I like that time, money & energy, do it!
Wise man Alex .Money is not everything .If you have at least a basic amount ,and only do things you enjoy you are a king .Also there is even far more reason to get out of Canada these days .Its gone way beyond North Korea .
Pete, i love you interviewing other vlogers. may i suggest two others? mickey stoch, russian expat, great life story. also lily, the american in koh samui married to a thai man. both have done well as bloggers
Great to see both of you sharing the screen, and a fabulous chat.
Very cool guy. Will subscribe to his channel. Love the stuff about him quitting his job, absolutely can’t be doing with all that “celebrity” bs 😂. Great interview Pete 👍
Alex should check out Cambodia and the ease of getting an extended visa
pay off the canada house mortgage early,,,, pay extra each month,,,it worked for me..,,what is the park you are in.
I don't seem to have time, money or energy. I think I'm doing something wrong 🤣🤣
No work hard then save invest then for 3/4 months per year take million baht with you and travel best way
