It’s NOT Brexit’ TalkTV host says EU chooses travel chaos but Portugal uses e-gates
A BREXITEER has hit out at the EU, demanding Britons be allowed to use e-gates to ease Dover travel chaos after a journalist sped through Heathrow.
Since Brexit, most EU member states no longer allow UK visitors to use the e-portals, as they are primarily designed for EU/EEA and Swiss passports. However, Spain and Portugal have updated the portals at international airports, accepting UK and some non-EU passports for people over 18.
Antonello Guerrera, a Portuguese journalist, noted that when he returned to Heathrow, he was allowed to use the electronic gate and speed across the border.

I am thinking of starting RIB service to France. You also get coach service to the local hotel at no cost. If it works one way it should work the other way.

ePassport gates are only available next year. They will still mean a slow down of passing traffic to about 10 times longer than pre-Brexit. You will have to park your car, get out and pass individually through the gates. Yes, Portugal has ePassport Gates….in an airport! That is nothing like the same. It would be faster, so much faster, if we could just do as we did in the past. That was simply wave our passports. But no, thanks to Brexit, they must be checked. In an airport that involves people walking as they did before. In a port that involves a lot more…. I hope you get it!
BTW, France told the UK how long it would take to do that and they requested doubling the resources.

We must do all we can too accommodate eu citizens coming to our country. If some countries in the eu want too behave badly l would say avoid them. But we cannot behave like the eu do. It is not ours or the eu citizens fault that France behave like bullies,they always have. Britain should always be a kind place for strangers.
If even Spain can do something right by Britain then the rest of the eu and France have no excuses.
And what reaction from uk government! !. Still waiting. When things like this happen and the uk government don't react it just encourages the eu to go further.
