From ZepLIVE, my story of escaping Ukraine, there’s a lot of anger, profanity and a lot of raw emotions so be warned:

  1. this showed up in my feed, never heard of this person….and i love how literally everyone in this fucking world is currently trying to milk every single trend, including the latest one aka the russian invasion….and streamers are the worst for that.
keep capitalizing, "entrepeneurs", and you simps keep simping.

  2. I had no idea you were living in the Ukraine :c I'm so sorry you've had to go through all that. What Russia is doing is detestable. I'm glad you aren't hurt, I can't imagine how painful all this must be for you. Know the community supports you and Ukraine!

  3. Cherish those memories of Ukraine. A brighter future awaits. I have to agree that FFXIV's positive message about forging onward is quite helpful for my life and yours.

  4. Man, I found this channel while watching newbie FF14 guides, and your fun streamer-type charisma and jokes really stuck to me. I'm new here but this has really been a touching, more candid vertical slice of how the war is impacting those who call Ukraine home. Compared to all those viral low-res clips of destruction and pain that's in mainstream news and social media platforms, that depict, yes it's an awful situation, but I hadn't seen the more intimate picture till now. I see your shelf of collectables you mentioned, in your thumbnails just a few videos ago, and I feel your pain of that and much more being left behind in an unknown state. I can only say, best wishes to you in handling these circumstances and dealing with things as you go. Stay strong.

  5. "I began to see the shining stars above the trees; telling me everything would be alright. " from an anime record of lodoss war, has been my fall back thought. The world can be so cruel. The world can be so wonderful. I am so glad your safe and i hope your friends are safe. Watching your content helped me so much ( learning ff14 and also during my IRL stuff your streams give succor to help with my IRL – family deaths, mental illness ). Escapism as you referred too. Thank you for sharing your love & wisdom.

  6. I'm so sorry. The closest I can relate is when I was young, I survived an earthquake but lost our house and most of our things, and had to move away to live with family out of state. Regardless, sending love ❤️

  7. The life of many Russian families changed too after they “became” Ukrainian overnight. Imagine if you become part of another country overnight. And then the new country doesn’t give a shit about you. Then you fight a civil war for over a decade and finally your brothers and sisters come to rescue you.

  8. Speaking of using Endwalker "as a comfort mechanism to help myself get through this time", to "emotionally reorient myself, and remind myself how I should face the situation at hand" — I firmly believe Endwalker was tuned specifically to do that job. Knowing that, by itself, brings me some hope.

    Spoilers below.

Let's look at the quest Sage Council. This quest is essentially the WOL offering a coping strategy to a bunch of NPCs. In addition, there's a few NPCs who show the WOL variations of the coping strategy, like these two:

Calm Researcher: "Worries, worries… No, I believe I'm fine, thank you! I've been confiding in my colleagues, and it's helped a lot. Can't recommend it enough."
This researcher already has the support she needs.
Calm Researcher: "It's a stressful time, of course, but having colleagues I can count on makes all the difference."

Occupied Administrator: "How might I help you?"
Occupied Administrator: "My, what a lovely idea! I too noticed people becoming… rather tense, so I rushed out to pluck some fresh and fragrant tea leaves! Now I need only track down a hundred or so cups… But don't you worry — I can manage. I hope your plan to cheer everyone up goes well!"
This woman is doing better than you are!
Occupied Administrator: "When plucked early, this particular cultivar's leaves are redolent with a scent that clears the mind and soothes the soul. Precisely what my hardworking colleagues need."

I believe this was specifically intended to present coping strategies to players. A lot of Endwalker is generally intended to help players learn to cope with horrible things, but this quest lays it bare.
When horrible things are happening, you see the path Meteion as Endsinger was trying to lay out before you, was trying to lay out ever since the World Unsundered, and the alternate path you take to win the game. Which literally appears as a path scattered with hopeful voices from the past during the quest You're Not Alone.

And the expansion villain is not even Meteion. She's a good bird, who was lost to despair. The villain is despair. Because Endwalker wants to show us how to fight despair in real life.

  9. I am glad you are safe. Hope everything gets better soon. I have an aunt trapped in Invakiv and we havent heard from her in 3 weeks. I dont know if you are aware but you should look into WISE borderless bank account as an American living in Germany I use it to easly convert money to different currency within the bank and pay our German bills and you get an account number/IBAN for every currency available.

  10. I was trying to think of something to write that would inspire you, but you've already got such an amazing attitude despite all of this hardship and loss. So glad you're safe and I know you're going to be okay, but don't forget to allow yourself the time to grieve. ❤

  11. I believe there are a ton of charities meant to helping the people fleeing Ukraine. If you need that reach out to them to get the necessities. Not sure about donations made towards the brave women and men who stayed behind to protect their land though. Any women who stayed behind have ovaries of steel as they had the option to leave or stay. Hopefully this conflict ends soon so the people can try and recover what is left of their homes.

  12. I really hope you enjoy Portugal. I know it's not home, but it's one of the most amazing places I have ever been. The Algarve is amazing, and I hope that its warmth brings you some comfort and peace during this brutal time. Peace to you, Zep <3
