Hi, we are Harriet and Mauro and in 2021 we bought an abandoned smallholding in Castellón, Spain.
In February 2021 we bought this land, and in September 2021 I moved here full time. Mauro still works in the city during the week, where he stays with his parents for a few nights, so I am usually on my own at the farmstead during the week. However, for the last 6 weeks I’ve had company!
In this video I do a bit of a round-up of some things we’ve been up to lately whilst my mum’s been staying with us. Lots of garden work and some fun little projects. I hope you enjoy!

Those little "balls" on the twigs of the dead tree you removed are old seed pods. It was a callistemon tree. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callistemon
nice
It was nice visiting with you today. I want to hear more of your story. I'm excited to catch up with your video's.
You have a lovely homestead… admire your work… I was thinking the pond under the pine tree would fill up with lots of pine needles every year…. Acidic and time consuming to clean… but that’s just my thoughts… I’ll love to see it thru the years…😁
The nettets are a very good fertelicer. You put the nettets in a bukket of Water and let it sit fore a fem weeks. After that you mig it with fresh Water 1 part nettet juice to 10 part water
Collecting seeds becomes a bit of a compulsion doesn't it? Very hard to resist! Love the wildlife pond and I WANT that chainsaw haha! Take care guys, laters! 💚

Hi Harriet. In Spain the climate is good for the growth of trees and other vegetables. The customs in the mountain villages that have neighboring forests are the "Lucks", which are raffles of wooded areas to prune. Normally there are some norms of diameter of branches that can be cut or cannot be cut. If this is the case, find out at the town hall. If it finds out whether the trees of the stream below your farm are of the people and if they can be pruned for firewood, respecting the rules of diameter branches, and you will have an extra free firewood pay only your effort to prune and take.
Hi Harriet,
good to see you again.
your property is coming along beautifully. It can be overwhelming because there is so much to do. Just pick a spot and work outwards and before you know it, you will have it all somewhat cleared out. lol. the good thing is that its yours and there really is no hurry. Have you though about getting goats or sheep to eat down the fields? they can fertilize as well. Have a blessed day. Love ya.
The dead tree looks like an Australian native, bottlebrush. The little pods are seed pods left after flowering
Love the music now more relaxing. Look forward to your videos. You are the first to inspire me to make improvements in my own yard. Have been painting, guernying the pavements re vitilizing my garden and plants and have plans for the extending my vegie

Do you meditate? When I feel off balance I breathe deeply while meditating and I get recharged…
Well done from sa
We use nettles as fertilizer- Put Them in a bucket, fill up with water and leave it in the shade. It smells but is really effective in our vegetablegarden.
