If I am fully vaccinated and traveling to lisbon with a layover in amsterdam from lax do I need a covid test?

My last experience traveling from the US to Europe was to present my CDC information in Croatia (my destination) no PCR whatsoever. Passenger location forms which were collected by the flight attendants before landing in Zagreb. Then the omicron variant changed the game, etc . I gather, based on your experience, that vaccination status is irrelevant as well as COVID 19 status since neither vaccination, PCR nor RAT are being required to board or enter a country ( At least Spain) from the US. They only want to know where people are… wonder what for?
