We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. In this episode i start with the rebuild of the shed to make it into a habitable room. In this first part i am going to take off the roof tiles and clear the shed out. I get a nice surprise in something i didn’t take in account yes.. probably a little less work all in all. We have a head start now.. but that mostly don’t last long here.. In the next episode we will enlarge the door size and make a hole for the new window.
My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey& Akira we show you the rebuild of our house en what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

Well done and you find some traesures 👍
You could even have the window at the back. Might be a better view? Looking good for a secret shed tho! 🙂
wow this looks like a bedroom already!
music really made the job go quicker! i have to try it myself!
could you show what you found in the shed?maybe instead of throwing the rusted trash away, try nailing it to the board and creating art piece! or many! I'm sure people would like to buy portugal project memorabilia 💪👨🏼🎨🛠️
Very interesting , Jasper
Looking forwards to the next vlog
Sharon Dillon said to do a sky light and glass door , that does sound easier than cutting concrete ❣️🥰
👍💪🔥❣️
Great progress. I like the stone walls of the shed to guesthouse. Will you be pointing them or covering them up?
Well done for day one. I would like to see the window in a different wall from the door so as too encourage air flow. Lovely to have the shade and the view of the olive tree through the window. Also this is the perfect time to raise the roof up by one or two brick courses.
Floor considerations. Damp proof, insulation and in ground utilities
Move the stuff one time. If you intend to stack wood in the storage area, then put it where you intend to store it. Otherwise you’re just creating more work for yourself, moving things over and over.
Why not put in French doors? You’ll get a lot more light and it’s less work.
Step one was well done. You were right the music helped!
Great job, Jasper👍👍👍👍👍
Good first days work a lot achieved
Should have used the four wheeler to move that heavy trash bin.
Just realised you are putting a window in lol
Jasper what will you door for light in the shed will you put a window in?
You can make you some batons out of your reclaimed lumber and using your tablesaw to make your batons on and it will save you some money its all free 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
Like your shorter length video; saves you a lot of editing too to get your story out. Admire your work ethic and energy level. Just don't overdo it and re-injure yourself.
Now THAT is progress!
What a great job on the shed WoW👏👏👏
Impressive! I realize you have a lot of energy (Gemini?) to spare, but don't wear yourself out please. Rome wasn't built in a day.
How do you plan to finish the inside? I have an easy and good way to do it, and also when you install new windows there's an easy way to do it without concrete! Just a wood fame butted into the walls! Cheaper and faster!
why dont you do one job at a time fella
After an uncensored long look at your toned atlas torso, I have to admit that a day ahead of your schedule, has been a good choice to start outside and clean things up. It almost becomes a full-fledged holiday residence address residence. Keep it up Jasper.
I'm sure you know to put a moisture barrier on the ground before you lay the floor.
🌟👍🍀💐

Hire a skip. Alternatively you are friends with the dustman you should slip them €50 and let them take all the rubbish away. Obviously don't film it.
The battens are not designed to have a 70 kg man on top. The tiles are putting far less pressure on the battens than your weight.
