MINI REBUILD PART 3 (..cutting the window and pouring some cement) – Portuguese House Renovation

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. In this episode i continue on the rebuild of the shed to make it into a habitable room. In this third part we are going to cut open the wall to fit a window. I planned also to finish the door but decided to pour the window first. Duarte is still busy moving the roof tiles to the building site.. In the next episode we will make 2 lintels to go above the door and the window and we pour some more.

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey& Akira we show you the rebuild of our house en what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. Geef die knul op z'n minst een behoorlijke hamer en oog en oor bescherming. Dat je zelf onveilig werkt betekend niet dat je zo'n jongen doof of blind mag maken. Het straalt ook uit naar hoe je video's ontvangen worden.

  2. Hi J +D, great work on the tiles, moved that mountain. Jasper love the window cutting, job ticked off the to do list. I'd right on the walls….."knock me down," "save me" ….. My hubby did that for me when I was painting or wallpapering. Love your new hair cut, you look 10 years younger and fresh. D missed your dancing today……maybe tomorrow. Stay safe.

  3. Opening the window wider was your only option as ventilation and light is important in such small space, you seriously need to do some grass strimming your lawn is turning into a jungle, just cut a section a day, as you building, but it needs attention or ask Dwight if he can do it.😚💜

  4. We would put felt on the roof before putting the tiles on which stops the wind coming through the tiles and keeps the building warmer . But you r doing a great job and I like what u have done so far well done it’s hard work I know .

  5. Oh Dwight…….😂 maybe he could clear up.the rubble, then he may think twice next time 🤔
    Great progress Jasper ❤

Enjoy waking up and watching your video, you have such enthusiasm and the weather in Portugal hopefully will be much better than Holland.
    Enjoy!!

  6. Dwight needs a bigger Hammer and you need a sledge hammer to get rid of the walls faster. I would think about building some jigs to cast your own lintels with rebar in them. Make them in pairs so they are easier to put in on each side of the wall also cut a notch at the top of each window jamb to support them. Good job!!
