MORE FRAMING & POURING (..and a work bench that is not finished) – Portuguese House Renovation

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. In this episode i check what we got from the framing on the right side of the window.. spoiler alert.. it is looking great! I finish the framing for the left side. I scavenge some more rocks for in the concrete and then start porring the left side. I fixed the wood also with some screws this time!. I also send some wrok working on the work bench. Unfortunately i didn’t get to finish it yet.. In the next episode i will finish the work bench and poor the top of the window frame.. with rebar.

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey& Akira we show you the rebuild of our house en what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. It was us that visited you. We are back in the UK now but found a place up near Sabugal we like just need to negotiate some land with the deal too.
    All the best Dave

  2. Hi Jasper ,hope the work will turn out fine, just saying, if you should put metal mesh with nails or metal hardware ,then..the cement, to reinforce the cement filling, i did it by advice, but its just an idea, take care, and will be following

  3. Jasper I like your vlogs. Just a suggestion….pls make it shorter…15 min max. You can ff a lot of the work you do. Lifestyle pace is increasing and I cannot manage to look at long videos…so I skip them.

  4. You may need to do some strimming to your grass soon, it is getting quite long, and with building rubble and other material around you could get a snake or two. The harnesses are a great improvement, they will get used to them soon enough👍😉

  5. Jasper I love to see you with your dogs . Maybe not on the bike , because it looks dangerous . I know you have to get back so you can work on the house . I will be glad when you can just take them for a walk .

  6. SLOWLY COMING TOGETHER, JASPER…NOW, IT'S TO GETTING THE WINDOW CASING FRAME DONE & SET IN & GETTING A GATE AT THE SIDE DONE…HOPE TO SEE MORE OF ALEX IN THE PROCESS…ALL'S LOOKING GOOD SO FAR…ALL THE BEST, HUGS TO ZOE & AKIRA……;)

  7. 43:13 This is exactly what I mean why did the other guy tell Jasper to take away more of the wall for the window void only then to have to replace it with 4 inches of concrete either side. Makes absolutely no sense at all you could have rendered 1-inch concrete on each side. I could understand if it was a near perfect finish but it's going to have to be rendered again anyway. Next time you do it Jasper don't do it this way just leave an inch either side of the window to fill in with cement. Less materials and less work.

  8. Why are all the doors so low? You seem to have to bend down to enter them and on camera they all seem very short. Is this just a norm in Portugal? I have seen this on other channels I follow of people who have moved to Portugal and are restoring a rock building. The door in your storage building seems to be taller than the doors in the house.
