  1. Hi, I’m from Canada and work for a software company as a permanent full time employee. I’m planning to apply for the D7 and move to Portugal. My work income would be used to apply for the D7 visa. In terms of tax, would it be more beneficial for me to work for my employer as a contractor or fulltime employee with benefits? I have heard two things,
    1. Portugal might want to tax my employer if I keep working for my employer from Portugal which could create issues for employer.

    2. If I work for my employer as a contractor, I only have to pay a reduced flat rate of tax to Canada. And NHR in Portugal would still help me pay 0 tax in Portugal since the source of income is from a foreign country.

    Any truth to this?
