This is part 2 of our trip driving the N2 route Portugal in our self built Campervan.
We start this week in Santa Marta and show you one of the new Aires provided for motorhomes. Fantastic services and terrific views of the local vineyards.
Google map location for the motorhome Aire
We continue down the N2 to Regua and stay overnight for free by the river Douro. There is a terraced Aire here by the river with fantastic services and very cheap.
Área de Serviço de Autocaravanas
We take a trip along the famous N222 route along the Douro River to Pinhão. One of the best driving road in the world. Google map link to Pinhão
You can find out more about the Douro valley scenic railway by visiting these links.
Driving down the winding roads through the vineyards to the beautiful town of Lamego.
We visit the stunning 18th Century Baroque chapel and climb the 686 steps to the top.
You can park by the sports stadium using this google map link
We take a short break from the N2 with a trip to the beach and stay in vega splash just a short distance from the beautiful seaside resort of Casa Nova. We enjoy time spent with old friends, cook a Portuguese dish and check out the new Luna Bar.

Enjoy the rest of your travels both – looks great mate 👍
Vince is on his way, it’s gonna get messy mate 👍👍👍
Love your vloggs, were planning to do that trip nect year because of your videos. You make it look easy to tour. Keep it up.
Oh my word portugal does not disapoint
will have to keep an eye out for speed queen's, great that you can take your dog in and wash and dry it 😜
😎🍷🚍⚓️🇬🇧👍
Great video 👍 should of had your Rocky t shirt on for when you got to the top of the steps 🤣🤣
That sandwich….WOW 🤩🤩🤩
Absolutely amazing, we are definitely doing this route in a few weeks…you have 100% sold this to us 😍
Glad to see the new Luna bar! After seeing your previous trips we stopped at that campsite and went to the Luna bar, then we heard that the Luna Bar had gone! We also visited the church with all the steps and we stopped the night in the coach car park at the top. We are finding it really interesting. Thanks to both of you.
Wow, never realised how incredible Portugal is to travel around. Awesome seeing your channel go from invaluable help building a camper, to actually getting out there using it.
Great video , never hear of that sandwich , some creation👍
Just amazing mate. Love the sandwich – Lou, did you eat all the meat? Sausage yes, Ham yes, Chorizo maybe, defo Cheese, Chips yes, but the steak? Let us know. Wonderful trip so far really enjoying this series. Love to you both, make me this sarnie on your return please (with Chips) xx
is it called heart attack sandwich?
Hi Greg and Lou love all self build and travel videos. One day 🙏
Would you be able to do a short video on what you need legally to do a trip within the 90 day limit. Many thanks
Amazing twisty roads. It’s on our to do list 😃
Hi Greg Low , yet again a great video, 😀 looks much better than I thought it was going to be , take care
Does Pastel de nata go with beer?
Are you feeding the 5,000 with those sandwiches?
The route doesn't disappoint.
As you're an engineer, I question the decision to put the sausages first. Because they would act like wheels for the rest that comes on top of it. I would definitely make a mess when I would eat it, while the whole sandwich is trying to drive away. 😄
The way you promote and inform about Portugal…the Portuguese Government, should give you a free month in the Buçaco Pousada…to say thanks..
That stairs in Lamego…you probably lost 1/2 a stone..very brave.
👍
Fabulous again Greg
Sitting here in wet, cold Scotland, this is a lovely antidote to the seemingly constant rain we've had since September.
Looking very nice there. How is biking there?
We do camper stops and go about the scenery on the bikes.
Great video but I bet you miss the cold rain and wind back home😩
Thanks for that great video, really interesting. We are now going to do some 'homework' into possible stop overs etc so that we can do this trip after Christmas, keep up the good work, can't wait for your next blog.
Hi Greg
Can you recommend a good water filtration system for the van
Good video. Have you mastered the fusion page yet in DaVinci?
👍💙❤️
Really enjoying these N2 videos Greg and Lou. Thanks for sharing . Stay safe and best wishes to you both on your travels. AL.
Another great video! Very watchable!
A great video, the road trip is now on my trips to do list. Thanks
