For US folks: This is the way I believe it work for Social Security income. Social Security is not taxed in Portugal as under the tax treaty, income is only taxed at source (so you only pay taxes against SS in US).
Does seem a bit of a taxcountry with little benefits? Maybe worse then Belgium?
If you are just living off social security and savings, will you be taxed on that money after 10 yrs.? If so at what percent?

So I, after 10 years, as an American, pay taxes on moneys I withdraw from a 401K. Do i then also pay Portuguese taxes on top of that?
