Off-grid Homestead in Portugal / Tough Times / Farm for Sale

Farming can sometimes be tough and I give a piglet update. This heatwave is brutal. Over a month ago I went to look at a property for a friend. The agent showed me an amazing property in Orca which I think has huge potential. I decided to add the footage into this week’s video in case there is anybody looking for something like this.

  1. Sorry about the piglets. I have been worried about them being born in the heat of summer. Also worry about you in the heat. Don't over do anything during the heat of the day. It has been 42 during the day here and 28 at night in Southeast Texas. Fires in my state though not real close.

  2. You need a hat on your head 👩‍🌾 please take care of yourself please no more sad news 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌧🌧🌧🌧 for you Cindy 🍦🍦🍦👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

  3. Did they die because they didn't get the colostrum from her? Because the other piglets drank it. Putting them with the new mama hopefully helps and they can get the colostrum from her.
Sorry for the loss. I know with the heat it's been rough.

  4. I'm sorry some of the piggies didn't make it. 🙁 I know it is part of farm life. I'm glad you were able to get Maggie to adopt Cinnamon Bun's last two. It really increases their chances.

  5. Hi Cindy, please keep egg mayo, grated cheese, brown bread…quick n easy pick me up! In this heat…cooking, a chore. Wash lettuce, cucumber, tomato's, peppers, ready to add to sarnie. Bowl of water and towel, to sit and soak feet. Add some Fenjal or baby oil…do this while on line. Face cloths in frig and drape back of neck and spray bottle with rose water, from chemist ….lovely treat. Even cheap Revlon or Yardley body sprays, all cool and uplifting! Add I bunch of Chrysanths, (in jug with iceblocks )to make you feel feminine and detox from Piggy sadness. ,🍦🍋🥑🧄🧅🥚🥪🥗🧃🇿🇦 Freezing in Cape Town.brrr.

  6. Hi Cindy! Oh I like the house you`ve looked at but that will cost a fortune to make it livable. I wonder if it would be allowed to raise animals there so close to town? Oh man that suck that the piglets die, I am so sorry dear! Its rough for sure! Good you were able to get the fans (a lot of ppl also use them on chickens cuz they struggle a lot in these temps as well! And hey!! You better dont forget to eat something hear!!!!! Hugs to you Cindy (we have heat warning in my town 38 C! Crazy! Stay safe!! God bless!!

  7. So sorry to hear of the piggy losses. The heat even in Uk has been unbearable. Luckily it has turned overcast and cooler here today. Hope it turns in your area soon and you get some relief. Look after yourself.

  8. 🙋hi from Scotland yes I agree that property is way over priced far to much money needed to get it up and running ,Cindy why don't you wear a hat it's far to hot to let the sun beat down on your head you will pass out with heat stroke take care

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about the piglets, that's a hard loss. Praying for rain for you, it's been a terrible drought this year, all around the world it seems. We have also had horrible heat and only a couple days of rain all summer. It's awful that you have very little means to stay cool, and I know you're doing everything you can for your animals. You're an amazing woman, and I sure enjoy watching your videos.

  10. Congratulations on all the piglet births! Sorry to hear they're struggling to stay alive. You'll be ok, I know. I hope all the mothers remain healthy… also important to consider.

  11. Sorry for the loss of the piglets. I know it is farm life but still makes me sad for you and the moms. I hope the heat wave breaks soon. Just watching you in the heat makes me warm and I start thinking its hot here too but alas it is only 85F. Take care. I sent some watermelon to you and the pigs.

  12. My God! I hope that heat wave ends soon. If the heat kills, especially older people, little piggies will be at higher risk. Anyway, as you rightly said, it's the reality of farm life. Now, take care of yourself and don't skip meals🏥🙃👍👍👍🐖🐖

  13. Cindy, in summer I love making pasta, adding mayonnaise, tinned tuna and tinned corn and peas if you like. Keep it in the fridge and it eat when you need a snack. It's refreshing, filling and tasty. Also in Spain we had tinned Bacalhau, it's cod fish, I am sure Portugal must have too, it was in a tomato and onion sauce and was so delicious on toast.
