I am in Thailand – sweat every hour, every day. but at night i cool down with my air conditioner. During the day there are fans everywhere, next door is a pool. In the freezer there are always glasses with ice water, lemons and coconut water. my goal is to be in good shape, well dressed, some eyeshadow and healthy food with intermittent fasting. I'm 67 now and have been happily single for 12 years
🙋hi from Scotland hi Cindy I notice when your doing jobs it looks like your doing it when it's later on in the day when it's roasting when I lived in greese we used to get up very early when it was day light but not sunny and get a lot f jobs done because I am sure you know you can't work in the heat ,I love on my own and have done for years I do everything on my own and I grow all my fruit and vegetables at my allotment in my own and I am seventy one but I keep myself fit so it's not a problem if something needs done and I can do it then I say to myself the sooner you start this the sooner it will be done take care Anne from Scotland
Cindy, why are you choosing to make your life so much harder? I understand your Wish to have a Cord wood half wall = it’s pretty. But surely you need to be practical about your capability, time & cost. 20 years ago it would have been a fun project!
At over 60 with your Health conditions it’s exhausting & costly. Iv been following your journey from the beginning and I keep watching you make the same mistakes time after time, wasting money and your precious energy / time, on buying the wrong products for you and your animals. I say this with love & hope that you will put aside what you think you want and prioritise what you need and can achieve.
1, The pigs are going to be a great source of income for you, get the pens and fences sorted they must be a priority NOW.
2, sort out the walls in your kitchen extension, get that enclosed Asap.
3, sort out your water source
4, insulate your cottage roof ready for winter.
Remember the most important rules of living off grid are
1 Shelter
2 water
3 Food
Please Cindy many people have been saying this for the last year, you are really struggling we can all see this. Thank goodness for Nick otherwise you really would be in a terrible situation. Maybe a get together with your friends in Portugal and make a plan going forward with what they know and have direct knowledge of how it would benefit you. For example Luke did a video a few weeks ago on filling up their water? That is much easier than what you do currently. So add those items to your Amazon wish list. Nick has built safe homes with fences for his pigs, a better water supply for his pigs.
I worry about you going into winter and if you continue to spend money that doesn’t help or improve your life.
Cindy
Have you considered using a wood chisel and hammer to scrape off the bark, put the log secured to saw horse or something length wise so it doesn't roll? Just a suggestion. I am a solo 60+ women with back, shoulder and knee issues and I have to rethink how I do things now. I purchase equipment or tools that will make things easier for me to accomplish the task have to do without hurting my back, shoulders, or knees. Good topic I am procrastinator at times too when the project seems overwhelming. Sorry to see Oreo is still unstoppable.

Hi Cindy I missed the part about why this wood wall is a good idea in the Portuguese climate? Wood bore is very prevalent there and they munch on everything including new kitchen cabinets. And you can hear them munching at night which is a bit scary. Perhaps lack of motivation is your inner self simply rethinking this project. I love how the kitchen is looking with the stone. Are there other budget-friendly solutions that can be explored?
I'm looking forward to your cord wall being done !!😊
I think everyone should have a YouTube channel like us Cindy !! It makes deadlines to get our butts in gear ! LOL
My body at 70 argues with me but I just tell it to shut up LOL 🤣😀🤣
Dear Cindy. Please don’t spend the rest of your life struggling like you are. Your health is important Do you find enough joy doing what you are doing? If so, my prayers are with you. How long is the horrid heat season there? Here in Texas for me (82) I can only go out in 100 + temp early in am. 6:00-9:00am. Allergic to sun. You are so educated and traveled all over the world. Your knowledge is invaluable and your personality 💯🌻.Love from me.
I agree about the couple motivation
Dear Cindy, I always feel as though it is time well spent when I get to watch your videos. I feel like you’ve become one of my friends. Prayers dear lady.
Oreo is trying to get you motivated by destroying fence after fence!
Cindy…. You need a draw knife and a green wood working draw horse…. It’s a clamp that helps you draw the bark off with a draw knife…. 😁
A retreat from work is not giving up, it just gives you motivation and energy to go back to work from another angle or position. Give yourself a break sometimes, you've already achieved so much Cindy. Rickard🇸🇪
You may need to get a grinder to remove the bark. Or modify ur design and continue with the granite .
Cindy, you seem to lack some basic tools to help you do your jobs. For example, get a machete for your slips; get a proper draw knife to peel the bark. Motivation is great but so is learning how to do things properly, esp. physical jobs will allow you to homestead successfully.
Also, the extreme heat 🥵 distorts perception and is demotivational. Very helpful to sleep the hottest hours of the day and work early evenings and early mornings (dark o'clock) + breaking tasks into smaller bits. Work for a bit then rest for a bit or switch tasks then rest… and repeat. Glad you're embracing your mojo.
Keep on keeping on 🤩❤️❤️
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love you.
You can do this! I can, or try to, empathize. I hail from cooler climbs but have adapted to the Iberian summers over the last 20 odd years. You just need to adapt to the seasons and that in practice means changing your daily goals. In the cold of winter I miss the balmy summer evenings. In the heat of summer I miss the cool mornings. Set yourself realistic, daily goals. In summer that means moving slowly, doing less, but still doing it well. You will not achieve what you can do in a winter's day. It means achieving "less" each day but taking care of yourself. It means listening to and adapting to nature. If I am to be completely honest with you, this is what living off-grid really entails. It is a wonderful reconnection but it is not the fairytale others might have you believe! Ánimo!
Hi Cindy, I realy admire you that you take on such a big project on your own. You are doing a great job!! But apart from motivation you may also take a rest sometimes! Slowly doing little by little is sometimes also ok! Anyway; you motivate me to do my big jobs by your example!
Hi Cindy
My latest video is on a water mist system,, to cool down people,, and I was thinking of the sweaty people in Portugal when I got it and tested it out. I think it can help on those really hot days.
Hi again, Cindy, just looking behind you at the large wall gap.To speed things up, what about asking Nick if another window could be built in there. Then just the surrounds could be pole things. 🏉🇿🇦
You are one impressive human Cindy ! I’ve put off splitting fire wood. It’s hot and dry now but winter will soon be here.
Cindy, I find watching the expat building vlogs motivating. It helps me be creative and get anything done
Hi Cindy must be pretty hot out there at the moment try building a wallow for your self and copy what the pigs are doing might make it cooler.
Hi Cindy, what a job debarking that wood, just an idea Luke is amazing with his chainsaw, couldn't he do them in a few minutes? Xx
You really need a few different tripods to free up your hands to be able to do tasks that require two hands. A small tabletop tripod and an adjustable regular tripod. They are cheap.
Thank you for sharing this very motivating video 😁
Miss Cindy you are a beautiful woman. I am sure you can meet a nice Portuguese man. 😊
You are strong and amazing. You will persevere. Blessings to you.

How about this , All Roads Lead to Rome ….I wonder what that means Exactly !
