(11 Oct 2021) United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held talks with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in Lisbon on Monday.
Pelosi also met with Prime Minister Antonio Costa and the President of the Portuguese Parliament Ferro Rodrigues.
Earlier in the day, Pelosi addressed the NATO parliamentary plenary session on the importance of gender equality and girls’ education in Afghanistan.
It was part of the 67th NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which began in the Portuguese capital on Friday, and has brought together lawmakers from 30 NATO member states to discuss key security issues.
