Today let’s find out how Australia intends to cut down processing time for visa applications.
Although it would remain a priority for all employers to identify key skills from overseas even after the New Year, another issue is the period for all skilled migrants to receive their relevant visas.
The government of Australia has looked forward to addressing and highlighting this issue during the recent job summit, with one of the outcomes being including an additional $36 million of funding to clear the previous visa backlog.
Reducing the period for granting new visas to skilled migrants is beneficial; however, this would have after-effects.
For instance, this change would result with offshore processing prioritising over onshore processing.

waiting for 491 from 22 months. My friend got 491 visa in 15 days because he submitted his file in august 2022..What the department is doing that they are not opening the files which are submitted in 2020-21 but they are giving visa who have applied in this year..why they are not picking the old files..The backlog is still the same for old files but they are opening the new files..This is really annoying and stressful.👎🏻👎🏻My PTE, Naati, skill assesment all are expired beacuse of this shit processing time..You guys are just ruinning our future.
Sounds Unreal. Most people I have read and heard of are waiting for more than 38 months just in the 489 visa subclass category.

Not only to faster visa processing time but make it easy in apply a visa, like today we can see : no experience, no education , are need in cleaning job and fruit picking job,please reconsidered your previouse conditions because the situation has changes, thanks

what about the 476 visa? it is ridiculous to wait more than 41 months for an 18 months temporary working visa!!! applicants have applied from 2018 and still did not receive grant. Is that how skilled engineers should be treated?
