Porto in 5 minutes | Travel Guide | Must-sees for your Porto tour

Porto is a cultural and culinary experience – and the most romantic city of Portugal.
A glass of sparkling red port wine, a platter of cheese, a view of the fantastically illuminated Dom Luís I bridge and the port wine cellars, with fado singing to the sound of guitars in the background – that’s Porto. The romantic city in the north of Portugal is still a real insider tip and we will show you the highlights.

The starting point for your stroll through the historic old town, which is a World Heritage Site, is the beautiful São Bento train station. Its entrance hall is decorated with more than 20,000 azulejos (painted tiles) with stories from Porto. A few steps up the hill you will reach Sé Cathedral, which together with the Episcopal Palace dominates the skyline of Porto. From the church square you have a fantastic view of the old town, the river Douro and the port wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia. Through winding alleys with colourful houses you go down to Ribeira on the river bank. More Information:

  1. Porto is amazing. However, the whole northern region of Portugal is excellent: not only it's very typical, but it also has the advantage of having the BEST Portuguese gastronomy by far. It's the real Portugal, and not the manufactured Michelin star Portugal. Porto, Douro Valley, Guimarães, Braga, Ponte de Lima, Valença, Chaves. AMAZING. All this can be reached from Porto.

  2. Porto is definitely in my bucket list…that's for sure!! GREAT video guys. Very well made as usual. Thanks for the tips and the entire contents. Interesting and useful!! 👍Ciao ragazzi! Renata

  3. Hi there, I've been enjoying watching your videos as usual. We film 4k natural sight and sound walks in soulful cities, and it's lovely to discover how we can share and learn so much through channels such as yours, thank you for taking the time to add it. We've just returned from Porto, with some walking footage but it's good to see more and feel like I'm back there for a while and have the guided info' too.

  4. The landscape around the city is terrible green areas are completly crowded with invasive plants eucaliptos pampas grass, mimosas , canas and ipomea indica etc , actually northwest and centerwest is pretty much the same too TERRIBLE.

  5. Nice video, but better if you put the geo location of each tourism object (instance: pic on 00.xx; geo location: N123 E153 XX) would be helpful to create better itinerary.

  6. Congratulation for being the No. 2 “best place in the world for making friends (and) finding love” by British travel magazine Time Out, as of 31 January 2018. clap, clap, clap…

  7. Livraria Lello really inspired scenes of Harry Potter…there is no myth as the writer teached English in Oporto for a few years. Many other things in Oporto and Portugal inspired Harry Potter such as the Café Majestic and the 20th century portuguese dictator Salazar. There is no myth when you talk about facts

  8. i started off like all uk tourists do and albufeira 20 times.then i branched out to lagos then i found lisbon and porto.Porto is the real people in portugal that have the proper warmth and pride bout their region.I am there on monday!
