Portugal beaches in the fall (Mid-October). Weather, amenities and more this season in the Algarve

A tale of two beaches.

People often ask me what the weather is like here in Portugal and in the Algarve. I figured I’d make a quick video with two local sandy beaches in October so you can see what it’s like.

If there enough views I can do one each month so you can see the temperature differences. It’s informal and nothing fancy but gives you a general idea of what is happening on the beach this time of year.

I visit the beaches on October 19 (a Tuesday) so sit back and enjoy (hang to the end where I just leave some zen out time with the waves and birds).

I live in the East Algarve where there is plenty of fluffy sand vs the amazing rock and coves in the West (both are worth visiting). My beach in VRSA only has one real access point and it’s not the easiest to access so we have kilometers of empty beaches.

The downside…when summer ends our concession stands with the drinks and snacks pick up their chairs and leave. Maybe it’s not a downside as it’s a great empty spot.

For more to eat, drink and concession stands I just hop over to the touristy beach of Monte Gordo with all the hotels. I can see it from my beach, and I ride my bike between the two towns all the time. Check out my video on the pine tree covered trails where you can ride your bikes from town to town (mountain bike as the trails are dirt and sand…street bike not recommended here).
