  1. Hello guys, yet another great video [loving watching so many and finding out so much information off the back of your experiences]. My question relates to learning the language and how easy/difficult it is to make progress. Have you found the time to sit down and learn some Portuguese either via self-teaching and/or more formal lessons? If yes, what progress are you making and how easy/difficult are you finding it? Appreciate your work and efforts in passing on the knowledge, thank you.

  2. Hi,
I watched the entire video and not sure if I missed this: how did you know what you needed to do for the car…even things like the headlights pointing in a certain direction? I guess I’m asking, we’re you given a list of things to fix? Thanks!

  3. the portugueses gov does something witch is ilegal, witch is charging extra taxes if you buy in germany a car and then put a license plate, its ilegal because all goods and money and people should transit freely inside the eu, but the gov is always inventing new taxes, thats why cars are so expensive.

  4. Jesus, I don't want to be negative…but. what a Shake-Down. Ironically, all that foo foo concern over safety doesn't make Portuguese roads and Highways any Safer. Portugal is horrid when it comes to Driver's Etiquette…uncivil, rude and Outright Dangerous! No need to respond Brother, I know there are too many eyes reading this Lament.

  5. Hey guys. Thanks for such a useful video. How long can you keep a Uk registered car in Portugal before you have to matriculate it? And what did you do for insurance before hand? We’re just about to move over and wondering what to do with our van and it seems a bit of a minefield 🙈

  6. Would this work for a tesla model 3 from the usa? First there is the charging issue. Second the the car is connected to the internet via cell network. If you have any info that wouldbe great.

  7. You should show us some of the foods that is typical Portugese. I remember the lovely prawns and fish dishes in South Africa delicious. Specially in Mozambique very fond memories of wonderful holidays.

  8. Great videos and info!! Thank you!!.. could you please provide info on applying for residency? What was required? Was it a simple process? Could you book an appointment at the local camara? We are planning to move to Fundao!!! X

  9. Jeez youre living a dream buddy.
Mental note to self: Mechanics is moer duur in Portugal. Bwahahahahhahahahahaa.
How much do you know about coming to Portugal from SA? Its probably a hole different party hey hahahahahaha

  10. Hi Guys!! Very nice video. Cars in Portugal (2 hand or new) are very expensive indeed. Nothing conpared to UK. Uk must have the most cheap cars in Europe. PT most expensive. A car like yours if bought ib PT must Worth around 30k or more. Its crazy but its all due high tax from Gov. Lisbon region has tge best deal. Countryside area have the most expensive prices because They sell less. Lisbon region are very competive prices. Many Portuguese from other regions buy there. I am one of them. Must be 20 or 30% less on pricw. Good look in your jorney

  11. So did U drive the car in to Portugal 🇵🇹? How about if I want to import a car from the USA 🇺🇸 to Spain 🇪🇸 to keep there or register it there… I’m a USA 🇺🇸 & Spanish 🇪🇸 citizen but a resident of the USA 🇺🇸.. Any idea? 🤨 Maybe it’s less expensive to purchase in Spain 🇪🇸🧐

  12. I imagine this sort of video about paperwork and emigration processes bores some viewers, but I find them to be fascinating as a window into what bureaucracy looks like in other places, and helpful for giving a heads up on what one will have to go through if emigrating. We hope to land in Brazil if/when covid allows, and I've looked into many aspects. It can be hard to find reliable sources of information where one's situation is similar enough to be useful.

  13. Really appreciate your effort and real time information. In gulf countries we have also steering on the left side & drive right side of the road, so no changes required to export a personal car to Portugal. But I think, need to pay huge taxes if getting Portugal residency? Best wishes

  14. Greetings from Lisboa…I was just in Tomar for 3 day's…Finding more and more expats living in around the Castelo Branco areas as well as Santarem…Was in Fundao about 3 month's ago…Hiked around the area and of course ate the Cherries…Cheers from Alcantara!

  15. Hi! We are bringing our UK car in a couple of weeks… we've owned it for 6 months but we were told we would need to provide loads of documents to PROVE that we've been using it for the last 6 months… what did you use to show proof?

  16. Great piece of Info guys , very very useful . Portuguese is one of the most difficult languages to learn ,so dont need to rush , just take your time , a lot of Portuguese know how to speak English (even my dad or uncle with 72 and 74 years old knows the very basics , lol . but thats a diferent story) . Stay safe guys

  17. I purchased a Toyota Yaris Hatch 2005 x 2 yrs ago, with 35.000 km for €6.500, in perfect shape. It was converted to automatic and it never gave me any trouble at all. Hopefully yours will last, cause cars are expensive here.

  18. Hey,
    Just import mine from NL.
Not sure if the service you are contracting includes IMT charges, if not add more
    Tax 45€
Registry 85€ ( you need to handover your uk car documents)
Then you should receive your DUA card (plastic card) at home and have 90 days to pay the IUC ( road taxes).

I also used a company service to avoid queues and above all the COC or homologation costs.
    Stay well and safe…

  19. No one here imports cars from UK because you drive on the wrong side og the road 🙂 So everyone imports used cars from Germany . Also because we love german cars. When you import you need to pay the taxes to get it legal here. I was not aware of that deal that allows you to being your car from UK and get it legal here (its a good deal). Now that you have a farm , you can turn yourself into a business person, i mean become a farmer businees (that will allow you to buy a 4 wheel suv or truck and other farm equipments with a discount) or even apply to some EU funds (if you produce something od interest to them like olive oil, berries, flowers or othe things. Look into it).

  20. It's mostly in the Beira region where the cars are stupidly expensive, go to Viseu and they're normal priced but still expensive compared to other countries.

  21. HI ,i work in automobile parts i ve clients there arround you ,people who you can trust ,just in case i can give you some contacts to buy a car if you want!!!is your business you will deal with them!!

  22. Portugal has probably the 2nd most expensive new cars in the European Union (due to taxes), Denmark number 1, and this will be reflected in the second-hand market. Also, because the weather is dry and there's no snow and no salt on the roads, cars will remain rust-free for way longer than in most countries. So there's always demand for older cars, as most of them are still quite reliable. This demand means that depreciation is not as steep as in other places.
