Let us put this topic straight ones and forever!
UK citicens can travel to sweden, as tourist, for 90 days.. and if one want to stay longer, as a tourist one can apply for 6 months visa!
Its the same for visiting relatives.
Then there is student visa and work visa, those are relyant of show up that one is accepted for study or for a job, in sweden!
Those two last means altso that one have to register as living in Sweden at our tax agency, how is those that keep the register and decide who have to pay taxes in sweden.
Students seldome pay taxes but those that got a job need to do it!
Soo, one register as living in sweden, that means one have a resident permit, it means that one is entitled to use our healt care as any swede, if one is a EU citicen.
For UK and other 3-countrys, one dont get a resident permit if one dont have a private healt insurance that is accepted in Sweden an prove that one altso have an income that one can sustain on and pay taxes in sweden on that!
This goes for all visas, whatever.. exept for short time tourists!
I cant find any "non lucrative visa" in sweden, as in Spain.. its probably easyer to get a resident permit in Spain then in Sweden?

Soo, there are different imigration/resident permit rules i all EU countrys.. its only EU citicens that can roam freely, whitout any asking any questions!
There is still rules, make a minor misstake in the wrong country and one can be expelld at short notice!

to weed out undesirables you first set them a test, a simple one, fill in some paperwork to apply to stay. already some will begin complaining. It is not paperwork that is meant to trap you or fleece you of hard earned cash. Just a simple application of a right to stay and the purpose of the visit. No need to have a tantrum.

Stop this nonsens, Im swedish, there is a lot of UK citicens in Sweden, I know a few, and follow others on Youtube!
Its this, UK citicens have to make more paperwork after Brexshit, kind of the same as USA, or other 3-countrys!
Those that I know of is those on student visa, after one have done ones study one have to leave, even if one have been here for years!
Soo, there are a lot of students in our country, frome 3-country, Africa, Asia, UK, USA, China and Russia!
Its this one cant change a student visa to a work visa, whitout any company sign up and prove that they want to employ you!
There is another way.. those students are often young and single, it actualy happens that they get a swedish boy or girl friend.. and they want to stay and build a family.. in this dark and cold country!!!
Some have to get back at there home countrys and apply frome there, and then swedish bureaucraty kiks in and scrutinies if its a love thing or others.

I guess Brits can go to Sweden to harvest vegetables and fruit seasonally. But for a limited time only.

British citizens DO NOT need visas to live or work in Ireland.
So I do not know what you are talking about.
