This is Praia da Marinha (Marinha Beach) located in Central Algarve, Portugal. It’s in the most southern tip of Portugal, 2 1/2 hour south of Lisbon and 1 hour west from the border of Spain.

I live in San Diego, California and we have beautiful beaches but Algarve is totally at a different level. Algarve has been dubbed as having the most beautiful beaches in the world. The amazing cliff side, clear turquoise waters, orange limestone that form the iconic rock formations are usually what you will see when you goggle this beach. In real life, the beach is even prettier than on pictures.

The beach itself is fairly small and secluded because you have to come down to a steep descent down to the beach via a set of steps. You can’t access any other beach from Praia da Marinha and it has an exclusive and “secret” feel to it.

The only reason we stumbled into this beach is because our kayak tour launches from this beach.
