PRAIA D'EL REY Portugal | Exploring Marriott Golf Resort Silver Coast in Autumn / Fall

Come with us on a walk around the magnificent Praia D’El Rey golf and beach resort on the Silver Coast of Portugal!

This is a spectacular part of the Silver Coast coastline. Home to the 5* Marriott hotel and an 18 hole championship golf course, considered amongst the best in Europe.

This is not a typical Frugal Travellers destination but we have been fortunate enough to find a dream house sitting job, looking after a gorgeous, playful kitten for 2 months in this perfect location.

Come with us on a stroll to see how the other half live. We take a close look at the Praia D’El Rey Golf & Beach Resort, the 5* Marriott Hotel, Praia do Pico da Antena, The Beachfront and some of the spectacular real estate that can be found in this exclusive destination.

Being a Frugal Traveller can get you to some amazing places!

  1. Haha, we moved here in December. Only noticed the video now.
We do miss more walking trails in the resort. The golfers gets the best trails and that is a bummer.
The walkway to the beach has just washed away.

  2. What a lovely video! Thanks for sharing! We were at the beachfront last summer & I can’t get the area out of my mind. So am actually looking to buy a small place there and have been in contact with Jeanette. If you have any other tips, or know of a place-please let me know. Did you take the walks to Peniche & Foz do Arelho?

  3. Yay, I've been looking forward to this one!! Congrats on the nice long house/Kitty sit.
I went through Praia D'El Rey a few times… I discovered it quite by accident while on one of my 'lets see where this road leads' drives. Those cliffs, close to the Marriott are incredible, from the top. Scary actually. I parked my car on the road that leads away from the hotel (and is parallel to the beach) and started walking towards the water and suddenly realized I was hundreds of feet above the water.
I hope I can try one of those flying bikes 7:47 – they look like a lot of fun and not hard on the back.
And, it is great that it's close to Ferrel & Baleal and not too too far from Peniche.
    Looking forward to more! 🙂
    Obrigada Mandy & Lee

  4. wow! very swanky area, it's no wonder I've never been there lol. beautiful coastline, but like you said dangerous too. I guess those beaches are packed during the summer! sorry you couldn't go for a swim Lee! great video guys, thanks.

  5. Thank you sharing. We visited Tavira Island in early November and were quite surprised the ocean water was not frigid at all—as I was expecting. Looks like you had a similar experience along the Silver Coast. Cheers. 👍🏻

  6. Very nice video about this coast line region. I know very well this region, because I worked nearby. That region has some of the nicest beaches in Portugal: they are colder, but they are beautiful. Cheers.
