School’s out for summer, so we packed up and jumped on an aeroplane bound for the Algarve for the Knox family holiday.
We stayed in a lovely family friendly villa near Faro called Toca Do Mocho. They’re great for families and can cook for you if you like (amazing food) and even offer babysitting if you fancy going out and getting smashed up on booze:
Our evening out was in the beautiful town of São Brás de Alportel, just North of Faro:
We ate a terrific meal in São Brás at Restaurante Ysconderijo which was recommended by the villa owners, Sadie and Mick. It was great value and brilliant food. Big portions too. We couldn’t manage desserts.
The bone chapel we went to see was the Capela de Ossos Bone Chapel in Faro:
The beach and resort we visited was Quinta do Lago, which had some of the biggest mansions I’ve ever seen. I imagine it’s full of footballers in June:
Oh, and we hired a car from Goldcar, but I wouldn’t use them as they were absolutely horrific.
