PUTTING UP FRAMING (..with scrap wood that barely holds) – Portuguese House Renovation

We are in the middle of renovating our house in an abandoned Portuguese village. In this episode i Alex is coming around again and teaching me things. And the help is also very welcome 🙂 Alex explains me some things about cement and we build the framing for poring the concrete together.
The teaching of the welding will have to wait a little sinds we are running of schedule at the moment. In the next episode i poor rest of the concrete for framing the window!

My name is Jasper and i bought a house in a Portuguese ghost town. Together with my dogs Zoey& Akira we show you the rebuild of our house en what it is like living the daily life in Central Portugal.

  1. Hi Jasper – Great video with Alex – a question – do you already know the dimensions of the window frame and is this your personal choice or must you comply with building rules? Thank you

  2. Are you using a lime concrete mix to allow the cement to breathe when framing out and resurfacing the building? Jasper, when I pour molds for my clay sculpture I seal the joint between the wood frame and its base with a clay mixed with oil, plasticine clay that is pushed into the frame's corners. I then coat the clay on the mold with liquid soap before pouring the mold. The clay peels off the structure after disassembling the mold frame. It rounds the corners of the pour which helps to keep the pour's corners from chipping. It might work with your concrete. The good thing is that the clay gets reused as the mold material that is on it pops off with slight pressure. I buy it from an art supply online.

  3. I absolutely love the fact that you know about blending foundation 😃 the dogs are great how they want to be in on everything. Putting their paw prints on there very own Portugal window of fame lols your friend as been good helping you out and it’s good to re use and re purpose things too 👍🏻 I’m looking forward to the big reveal now..

  4. Learning to build is a neverending process, it’s worth the time it takes. Thanks to Alex that he shares his knowledge with you…and with us😊. Interesting video, enjoyed it.

  5. LOOKING GREAT WITH ALEX'S HELP…VERY NICE BIG OPENING FOR A DECENT SIZED WINDOW…LET'S GET THIS SHOW STARTED!…I HOPE TO SEE THE WINDOW DONE & THE ROOF ON BY MAY 1ST!!!…HOP TO IT, JASPER!…ALL THE BEST, BLESSINGS…;)

  6. You need a bungee cord to attach the leads to, then attach it to your belt, you brave, those 'two steam trains', will pull your pants off at that pace🤣🤣🤣 If I walk more then 2, I use double halter it allows you to attach 2 collars to 2 short leads which are joined by ring then the long line, fancy contraption designed by Rogz dog gear.😁 btw, dogs love wet cement, you need to barrier all your wet work🤭

  7. LOL. Enjoyed your walk with "the girls." Very funny how you attempt to control them and vice versa. Alex did a beautiful job with the mascara and paying attention to detail. He's an artist. Wonderful to see the scraps of wood being recycled. Y'all did a great job!

  8. Olá bom dia amigo, você para fazer esses trabalhos o meu amigo devia ter uma butoneira para amassar o Cimento com a areia era uma grande ajuda para si e para esses trabalhos e que lhe trazia muito progresso e rentabilidade.

  9. Akira lets you know that it's pool-jump time again.😇
Was your machine spinning a wash? Why is that f$^(*#@^)cord than hanging in the middle of your aisle? 🤣😎
Keep up the good work Jasper, your growth is enormous, you will become a real construction worker, although a real one does clean up the rubble after work is done.😅
