  1. I've seen many Nigerian and Indian young men and women who are new to the UK saying 'life is better here'. Many of them were given quick student visas with work permits as the UK was on its knees after loosing a lot of its workforce to the pandemic.

In my mind I was like these guys don't know yet what awates them there. They are the kind who grew up being told from primary to secondary Geography books that their countries were poor and the UK was one of the richest!

They are also used to seeing pictures of white saviour Jesus in their churches and romantic white men and women on a TV box. Don't worry they will wake up later on in their life or when it's too late.

  2. The amount earned to attract 40% tax has now been brought down to £37,500 starting this financial year ie from April 2022 to April 2023. Meaning any amount you earn beyond this amount will incur 40% tax that is ridiculous.

  3. My wife use to live in UK. Due to low pay in nurses i told her to leave and come with me in UAE. Now shes earning 3 times her salary. We are saving 4000 pounds per month which is probably saving of one nurse per year.

Our healthcare and education of kids are free. Its tax free also. However we will move bavk to uk just to get passports for my kinds and we will go back to UAE for higher pay.

  4. When we talk about the cold – think about having to wake up in the cold morning, EVERYDAY, leave home EVERYDAY before 5 am, for an early morning shift. You are forcing yourself to work at a time when you should be enjoying the BEST HOURS OF SLEEP.

  5. Nice video ma'am. Despite all these, I am extremely thankful to be in a country like UK where my tax is being put to good use and opportunities for me to advance in all ramifications are available.🙂

  6. It’s not easy everywhere but UK since out of EU has exploded . I also live in France married to a French citizen we still eat better in France than in the uk .

  7. There are also taxes in Nigeria for salary earners (monthly), private business owners (FIRS taxes) and daily taxes collected by state govt.-organized touts from transport business owners, traders in the market, hawkers, bike and tricycles drivers etc.😂. We complain daily bcos no serious value is gotten from taxes paid in Nigeria.
Madam Tochi did a previous video about how to earn more income in UK which is applicable even for those of us still in Nigeria👍.

  8. I am from England, I was born in London, my family travelled around the world….I have loved and hated every country I have ever lived in and visited, but I will always call England home, because I am English:)

  9. Finally the truth there are plenty of reasons why people are leVing the UK. Mainly high cost of living low salaries bad weather expensive gas and housing and no professional job opportunities in many areas. Yes and Loneliness. Great video Tochi the UK has a Minister of Loneliness. Mental health is a great lproblem in the UK.

  10. Thanks for your views Tochi. All FG workers in Nigeria will pay about 15-30% tax/deductions. Monthly tax/deductions could be about 12/20/30%, depending on your grade level, tax on salary, NHIS, NHF, pension, they are all sources of revenue to government so as to be able to function. Paying of tax, deductions, VAT in Nigeria is steady. Paying similar 20/30% shouldn't be an issue to those in organized sector from Nigeria. Why will you leave Nigeria if you feel you're doing? So stay back in Nigeria. Good and reasonable life is all we should desire.

  11. You are entitled to your views anyway. Maybe for the YouTube content. Can you compare the poverty situation in Nigeria to living in the uk? No matter what leaving Nigeria is still a great decision for someone who has tasted poverty without any headway in Nigeria. I have seen people being sacked at the peak of the career and they never made any headway till now until they relocated to the uk was when they started picking the pieces of their life. No age barrier to getting work in the UK but in Nigeria the moment you attain a particular age in Nigeria and you are yet to to find your feet you can never attain it again except by God’s grace. No matter your views we all know that Niger is in a mess right now and people are going through hell on earth all because of bad governance.

  12. Came in with my family over a week ago and presently house hunting. The houses were a shock at first but then all the space I had in my house in Naija, what did I do with them? The tax? At least we see what they do with them. My children have not shouted "up nepa" since we got here. My sister, we full ground.

  13. Tochi you can apply what you have said to a lot of Western countries to be honest. The UK weather has become milder because of global warming . We have fewer snowy winters in the south east compared with the past. It has a lot of challenges though, I'll be honest.
