The best piece of advice I have is to spend some time in the location you are thinking of. Don't go there for a week or two and decide to buy a place and move there. A two week vacation somewhere isn't like living there. Go for a few months and if you REALLY like it then rent for a couple of years, even 5 years isn't too long. Only then, if you still like it, should you be looking to buy a place.
Yes those FB groups are great for general information,as to valid and current information, not so much. So thanks for giving us a great resource
