In just 3 dry days this week we have, with the help of genius Dave, nearly redone the roof! This is how you can make serious progress with professional help and hard work.
We have not had chance to stop for air and we also have a new family member who is registered to us and has moved in on a permanent basis, she is a wonderful friend and a sweet soul.
Be sure to follow us on the other socials for more content and surprises, thanks for watching and see you mid week for further updates.

  1. Hey Nick, what are you going to do with the ladder hanging from the beam. Did you keep it? I would like something like that in my kitchen with copper pans and kitchen equipment hanging off it. Cheers Kym

  2. So lovely to see progress on the roof. You should have scaffolding wrapping around the house while working on the roof – much much safer and it would provide you with a platform where to work from, so it would make work easier. See how Martijn Doolaard, another youtuber working on his roof, does it https://youtube.com/c/MartijnDoolaard. I hope you'll consider it, because the way you are working at the moment is too perilous. Hope everything goes well with all of you. Stay safe.

  3. Great job Nick and Sarah. Congrats on the newest family member. Soft hearted the pair of ye. Really good progress on the roof, and whilst Dave is the expert, don’t diss your own efforts Nick and Sarah. Collective progress. 👏👏

  4. That dog is so sweet clearly loving the care you are giving her. She looks very happy in your home. You both are so kind to the strays. Bless you both.

  5. My, that's quite some progress indeed! I think more people will now understand your vision for this cottage.
I don't know if it's the camera, or the real situation, but it looks like the front wall is bending out a bit in the middle. if so, are you going to remedy that with a wall anchor? I would worry about the wall's condition over time. Especially as a new heavy roof is mounted. What I've seen in Spain and France is that they construct a concrete 'beam' all around the top of the walls and along the gable ends, reinforced with rebar, to 'bind' the structure together. Of course it's worth checking if the foundation is solid enough,so you won't experience any subsidence in the long run. Anyway, seeing the progress of the work in this vid, the roof is probably on by now. Looking forward to seeing it all come together. Success!

  6. Nas Nuvens Casa! That is going to be a stunner! A stone knee walled patio wrapping the corner between the 2 doors is where I would watch every sunrise and sunset for the rest of my life. Beautiful!
