Interesting speculations. I would say that if the war crosses a NATO border then avoid all NATO countries. Pleasure travel in those countries is not going to be pleasurable. It will be interesting to see if NATO stands by it’s far eastern members. If Russia were to expand the war I think China would first step in to stop the war. China’s success with power has been to expand it’s worldwide economic reach. It would first want to protect it’s economic interests.

Thanks Dan before this all started I was actually thinking of visiting Ukraine again this summer. Now if Ukraine prevails I think it will take minimum 20 years to rebuild. I remember visiting east Berlin in 2001 10 years after the wall fell and there was still lots of damage from WWII. If WWIII were to break out I am not sure I would feel safe in se Asia I would be afraid of China making a land grab. I would think my safe spots would be South America and maybe New Zealand.

I’ve been thinking about all of that too and sadly being transgender I had already crossed all of Eastern Europe off my travel list. If things don’t begin to die down, but escalate, I will cross all of Europe off my list too for the foreseeable future. I’m pleased with myself that I’m headed to South America soon and if for some reason that doesn’t work out then I’ll look seriously at the Philippines or Thailand. A global currency crisis will likely come before nuclear war but will eventually trigger a nuclear war. At the rate things are going, no one is going to be able to afford to travel and there will be heavy restrictions. The virus mutations can be used over and over again for governments to become more and more authoritarian as well.

Also, if this war spills over into the NATO countries it will also spill over into Asia, and there will be mass uprisings in many of the countries of the Americas as well. It's not a matter of whether a global conflict coming, it's only a matter of when.
