Yeah, why prices are all over in Portugal sometimes does not make any sense, I can see it’s on market gif long time but they done change price 🤷♀️
It is very funny if you check real estate esp renting not having bad pictures: Example: See a flat, where they publish 3 pictures of a parking lot, 2 from the complex outside, a pic of a wardrop and the laminated floor in a corridor, hihihi.
What do think about Peniche for investment/retirement?
Thank you
I think Ana is providing a very much needed service for all of us wanting to make Portugal home. I for one will be getting in touch with Ana when the time comes. Well done Ana. By the way I will definately be visiting your Viking Tavern, skål fra Danmark.
I agree 100% with Ana opinion related to real estate in Portugal
Heard a few comments about dampness in Portuguese houses I had a similar problem in an old cottage in the UK it was solved after a lot of research which I’m happy to share. Basicallyyou need to install damp proof barrier in the floor followed by Insulation and Underfloor Heating finished off with the stone tiles or wooden floorboards..are used the Knauf thermoshell system on the walls. This is a mineral wool (Rockwool) bats in between insulated batons 100 mm deep. The batons are placed in the verticals on the walls and the mineral bats are placed in between you then put a breather membrane over the top of the battens and finish off with plasterboard . This insulates the walls and this system will improve the heat loss through the walls and the floor and stop any penetrating damp and allow the walls to breathe. I’ve also noticed a number of people renovating their stone farm houses and cottages a number of these are using Portland cement the grey cement this is a big mistake the old properties were generally mortared with lime mortar which is breathable if you render or mortar your property with cement you effectively will seal in the moisture and cause damp inside the house please don’t do this. the property might look nice but effectively it’s the same as putting a plastic bag over your head! (Well not quite but you get my meaning) the Thermoshell system is a GermanSystem for insulating. Now you don’t have to use it, you can just buy cheaper Rockwoo; insulation and just use hundred mil cellotex installation and cut it into 5 cm wide battens then glue a strip of decent quality plywood to the edge of the batten as you will be screwing into this when you attach your plasterboard the German knauf system is excellent but expensive however either method will save you a fortune on dehumidifying or heating.it will also make the house much more healthy and comfortable to live in. Hope this helps
Ana's honest and candid responses are very refreshing. If I ever decide to buy property in Portugal, I want someone like her on my side. Thanks!
