  1. Great vlog as always, Joric! I have just completed doing an exploratory trip to France for several months. I did this to determine where I really want to retire. While Toulouse, Paris, Bordeux, and Nice, are beautiful, housing accommodation, is expensive. With that said, I made a decision to "reroute" and go for Portugal. What do you think about Sao Martinho do Porto? Is it a safe place to live?

  2. Thanks as always for another informative video. May I add a few finer points for Portugal specifically? When visiting: (1) Stay in an apartment—not a hotel—as this ‘experience’ will help folks find that grocery store or pharmacy. Plus it will help with other practical maters like: how or where do I wash my clothes? What’s for breakfast? Where is that bus or metro stop anyway? (2) Auto. Where do I park and how much does it cost? This is a critical information for places without dedicated parking and in congested urban areas. (3) Hills. Oh boy—those hills in Portugal! Not obvious if you haven’t been to PT before. Imagine walking up those hills with groceries in your hand. (4) In Lisbon: watch out for the flight path. I’ve concluded at least 50-percent of Lisbon is subject to aircraft noise. More power to you if you can live with that reality. Cheers!

  3. Regarding your consultation calls, are you able to speak to moving with a disabled parent? I'm trying to find locals in Portugal who can help me get info on long term care facilities/costs and in-home nursing care costs.
