Alvor is located in the Algarve, Portugal’s vacation hot spot. The beaches are emptier than ever due to Covid-19, but we still need to exercise our best judgment when planning a beach day. Portugal has only recently opened up its beaches for locals and tourists, and the country has many safety regulations in place to help everyone stay healthy. There is an app you can download that tells you which beaches are busy with live data. Municipal staff also put up green, yellow, or red flags in the parking lot to indicate how busy the beach is.

While we are in Portugal visiting our family we are being extra safe and following all the rules that are in place and taking extra precautions whenever possible. We are happy to support the Portuguese economy as it is being negatively affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
