Welcome to the second installment of the video series where we travel back in time to when I began filming in August 2020
If you haven’t already watched the first video, here’s the link:
I go over five jobs I did way back at the start and this video will go through five more until we catch up to resent day. I filmed a lot of stuff before I got around to starting this channel and I think this will be a good way to look back to see the things I’m already done to get to the point I’m at today.
This video’s jobs are:
1. Making a Window Hole
2. Planting Trees
3. Slaking Lime
4. Preparing Wood for the Bezzanine
5. Olive Picking
I hope you enjoy this series and a bit of time travel! Thanks for watching!

I love cal!
Thank you. You're living my dream. I'll be visiting Lisbon next month. Good luck!
Me !!! Tell me about Lime!!!
Walnut trees poison the ground and nothing will grow around them. Stay away from the Walnut.
hi, concernign the extra Olive Oil, maybe make poducts, like soap, and sell both to support all the projects you do in Portugal?
Another 1% here )))
You could make soap with the olive oil or pour it into small bottles and sell to your subscribers.
What is going on with your water storage behind you in the video? I noticed the concrete blocks, so is this the tank that was leaking and needing work? That's is one of the projects I will be interested to see you work on. I have what appears to be a spring on one end of my property and would like to find a way of holding part of the water back so I have it for watering trees over there. I also liked the lime footage. I want to use not just the lime putty but the lime wash. Want to put that on the inside of the chicken coop since it is supposed to be great antibacterial.. Always so much stuff to try!
Hope you got quick lime trees so you can sooner slake your thirst on those hot days 🙃
Good job! You got lots of suggestions for your olive oil. I second the idea of using it as a preservative for whole olives, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. But you are still in the building phase, not the storage and cooking phase. Maybe be something for later using those jars you have. Have you been able to explore the microclimates on you property yet? There might be sheltered spots for Guacamole and the Banana.
Hello from Greece. You are an intresting and capable person but i wonder how you manage to handle it with your creative and chaotic mind (ha-ha.).Step by step-said Saron Stone-dont think- but act /one by one works, from the start to the finish. One-one-not all together…in the end all the works have been totally finished…cheers…
🙋hi from Scotland ,hi kirsty thank you for another interesting vidio I love the texture of the lime looking forward to seeing you using it ,I lived on the island of Crete for a year and I helped picking olives oh my god it was hard work but I loved it ,I can't stand olives but love olive oil you can't beat a nice big piece of home made crusty bread dipping it into the oil love you channel it's amazing how you are getting on with building your home and garden take care till next time cheers 🍷 from Scotland 💐🌾🌷🌺
Yes!!!! Very keen to see more on the lime- how you’re planning on using it and different applications- really cool stuff!
Great video! I'll be rooting (😉) for your trees to grow up tall and strong!
Mmm, seems to me that your audience may be the 1%.
You will be Mighty!
Olive oil soap
Keep up the good work well done 👍🏾
Always interested. 😁🥑🇦🇺 Olive oil…..pastry, cake batter, preserved goodies and replacement for any fats in cooking.
Avocado should do well except in frosts. Cover with burlap in winter, or up early to hose frost off. Trim back any dead/dying branches and keep all fruit trees low, to reach bounty. Great work.
I am a 1%’er wanting more lime stuff! It’s so interesting to learn about it. You are a dynamo. Love your videos. I am in Croatia for a year using the most amazing olive oil I have ever tasted. (From US where the olive oil isn’t olive oil).
Olive oil is the bomb on popcorn instead of butter…add sea salt and possibly nutritional yeast and you have a yummy, nutritional snack. Love your place!! Karen
I am so enjoying your videos. I could listen to you for long periods of time, I think it is the way you mix in comedy with your explanations and video. Really interesting. Look forward to hearing more about your projects.
Love to see you at work 😀💞!
It seems you've trained yourself immensely for building things 😍
Your plants are thriving !beautiful!
💞💞🇳🇵
You are doing great. Loved seeing you and your lime making.👏
I think you are doing well on you block of land. I would like to see you finish your windown and come our od your sarcophagus and bring some light to your tiny home. Best of luck
Yay! Liming, yes, totally up for hearing/seeing more on that process and uses, especially the rendering. Olive oil, I make soap. I haven't used 100% olive oil yet, but intend to. It's slow to cure and eventually makes a hard soap. Currently I add coconut oil and shea butter. There is an app called 'soap' a yellow bar on burgundy background which allows you to put the ingredients you want to use in and it works out the quantities of each and the lye required.
Love your videos down the memory line!
I would also be very happy to hear way more about lime, and what you use it for and video where you have used it? 🙂
💚☘️✨
I know the 'Indie Projects' channel had to order a pallet of lime several months ago. IDK if you are close in proximity, but maybe they have the lime you were hoping for. Actually, I don't even know if they used the whole pallet or not, they haven't mentioned it for a long time. If I remember, the last video they talked about it, there was like a half pallet left. Indie Projects is a Portugal channel.
Always funny! I think the putty is sold as “Pasta de cal”. I’m using it as paint, but if you don’t mix the bucket, maybe is the same consistency that you need?
I don't know if someone suggested it, but a good way to use the olive oil you have in excess is to use it to preserve some vegetables from your garden, for example: tomatoes, garlic, cucumbers, etc.
Hi Kirsty, Thanks for sharing another interesting video. Maybe you could show us some of the lime render that you have done ? Especially as we have seen you making the lime paste. BTW It was a pleasure meeting you in a local cafe a couple of months ago, I'm the guy on crutches.
I am definitely in the 1% interested in the geeky lyme stuff!
What to name an avocado tree? "I guess I'll call him guacamole" 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂 Priceless!
Make olive oil soap!
1% here! Im glad it didn’t blow up. I assume you put in the steps by the water tank…amazing. I love all the trees. Did you paint the door black? You don’t shy away from hard work whereas I just like to watch others do this. Keep the videos coming and you have such pretty views from your finca.
Your channel growing at a tremendous rate. Love the videos, keep it up.
I would love to hear and see more about lime. All the various ways you use it. ☺️
😀
you can make soap for your body, hair, laundry, dishes etc. out of olive oil
Wow, so amazing the work you've done. Love all those trees too! 👍
Theo and Bee bought a palette of lyme, so if you need any contact them. They are in the Castelo Branca region
Stop wearing the safety gear, you killing people by making them laugh so hard at how ridiculous you look,🤣 😂
Olive oil makes for a really nice moisturizer. Feta and oregano in olive oil. Herbed oil. Soap. It was nice seeing your older projects – are you using the lime on your walls later?
Love to see what you do with the lime putty
I guess you were talking to me also, regarding the lime, that stuff is so cool!!!
well if you ever eat mayo then there is a winner for your olive oil 🙂 and some eggs
also a 1% here 😉 i recently tried with some friends to make a wall in a garden with lime and rocks, pretty scary but cool
You would pleasantly surprised at how many people enjoy learning building on YouTube, so I guess, myself included, really enjoy learning about things like lime that I know absolutely zero about, so thank you !
