Does anyone have correct information about Spain helping Ukrainian families financially who want to come to Spain?
Northern Ireland is part of the UK not EU – it is Eire (Southern Ireland) that is EU
At one time the Spanish authorities were quite relaxed about EU citizens staying in the country for longer than the official period. But the official rule is 90 days per trip and 183 days per year before you have to become tax resident. You do need a fair bit of paperwork for that: NIE, padrón, passport, a certain amount of cash at bank…. But if just the length of stay is the issue, maybe best to ask a lawyer or simply EU long-ter
Muchas gracias por el vídeo sanctions are unfair.tough sh1t actions cause reactions
Brits could happily take their money and f.off
The rocket launchers C-90 are already in Ukraine
Spanish politics is full of caca de toro.
As is the case in many EU countries.
Potential outcomes of Russian aggression
1. Russia continues the march across Europe as Germany did in the the 1930's establishing autocratic governments and Spain returning to the days of Franco.
2. Re-establish the Iron Curtain at the border countries of NATO.
3. Russians over throw the Putin government.
4. World War III.
I do not like any of these outcomes except the over throw of Putin. It seems sad days may be ahead.
No more shopping at Dia!
It's called an outcome. Russia has never had a positive and peaceful relationship with Europe anyway, not least in the last 250 years, given the legacies of countless invasions. Saying that Spain has had an ambiguous record in Russia, with many former Republican soldiers serving in the Soviet Forces in WW2, and I can think of Dolores Ibarruri's son who perished in Stalingrad, an Officer in the USSR Army. On the other hand, tokenism like the Division Azul up to 1943 shows how Spanish foreign policy operated. Should Spain send weapons to Ukraine? Should they? In the worst days of the Cold War, I can't recollect a time when Spanish Frigates sailed in the Black Sea. That temerity could have pushed the Russians to invasion. Spain should make every effort for Peace to prevail and encourage talks between the Kremlin and Kyiv.
NATO crossed Russia's red line. This is a limited military incursion.
The Blue Brigade fought with the Ukrainian Nazis as German allies of Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union. Russia has not forgotten. Russia is not an enemy of Spain, so why make one. Not even Israel is sending weapons. Spain will need good relations.
Hi Stu, I enjoy your videos. I recently went to Benidorm with my husband and we budjeted to spend 50 euros a day on food and drink. We stayed for 28 days in a self catering aparthotel. We spent £1500 in total not including the flight and hotel. I don't drink alcohol but my husband likes a pint. Loved every minute of it and it was very Spanish if you want it to be. I also speak Spanish fairly well which really helped. Gracias por la información que nos brindas.
Some good news for you in the time of such said news: WA has opened it border – sort of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r25PCGJCyOE
No biggie. DIA is going bankrupt again it seems.
Spain's parliamentary system sucks. They can never agree on anything
I'm sure us Brits spend the same amount if not less than other countries whilst on holiday.
Yes we get drunk where other nationalities tend not to.
But I think that's probably because we can't hold our booze like others do.
Have you seen how hard the Irish and the Aussies can drink and still get home safely
They're legends.
Brits on holiday in Benidorm and Greece spend money like drunken sailors on shore leave. I know people, especially in their 20's, coming home and having massive credit card bills, which they can't remember spending. Germans and Swedes aren't that stupid.
It is in you NHS app providing you registered your positive test with the NHS .
Oliver Stones excellent documentary Ukraine on fire 🔥 made in 2016, give a very interesting perspective and some insight into the current situation.
I survived one January and the following February in Finland. Finish, no more Finland for me in winter despite I arrived there after two years in Ontario. The country is even but beautiful and I keep good and weird memories and anecdotes. Just one: in 2000 everybody spoke English there but gypsis… and most of coach drivers!? There were quite a lot Spanish speakers there then, at least in Turku, and many were Finnish.
AS THE WORLD TURNS…..
Michelle from Northern Ireland; I understood that Northern Ireland is part of Brexit?
I'm a bit confused about the news that you can now enter Spam with a recovery certificate as hitherto all you needed was a test (not even a PCR test). At least not when coming from a Schengen country. So what's the story here?
I've been to Finland: From Åbo/Turku to Helsinki to Kemijärvi north of the Arctic Circle. I can confirm that it exists. Just don't go there to buy booze, they ration it and have a State monopoly.
Spain is a poor , bankrupt country right now and the NATO warmongers want it to get involved in the Ukraine war. The end result will be more poverty for ordinary Spaniards.
John’s comments were class!
RTVE telediario 21 horas of 01 March, 2022 shows a couple of interesting tables, one with the total number of tourists per country, the other with the money spent by tourists of those countries. Pretty interesting. All the best to Stuart and everyone. Vlad
The argument for not sending modern weapons to Ukraine that I heard was that nobody wanted to provoke Russia but that argument just doesn't fly anymore after Putler has threatened everyone on the planet with nuclear war.
Hi Michelle, as an Irish passport holder, I can confirm its very straight forward.
No they shouldnt xx
THANK you.I ' m so happy that can go to Spain with my recovery certificate.
Hello Stuart. For the Irish lady that asked the question regarding residency in Spain if it is anything like brits before Brexit, in Andalucia it would mean going to the ayuntamento to register for a padramento, then as you said a particular police station within the area to obtain your NIE. My Spanish is passable so did myself but there are always local translators if needed. Easy peasy 😀
Tire fixed?
Hello Stu, today, on March 2, the Spanish government has decided to change its mind and yes, it is going to unilaterally send offensive weapons to Ukraine. The decision has been supported by the majority of deputies in the general courts, including Podemos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rrz1tSNlPQ
Hi Stu, what about the floods in Australia, looks bad!
Spain drops charges against ex king eh 🙂
Glad to be back in Spain end of March,so looking forward to Spanish food, the people and shopping at Banus, with a beer in the port !
Cheers Steve
Jabberwocky BY LEWIS CARROLL
’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”
He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.
’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Thanks Stu. Been watching you for two years now. Can’t wait to get back to Nerja. Been going since 1986. Seen some changes !!!!!!
I was in Lapland, Finland skiing and so it was there 2 weeks ago.
The comment on the Irish passport holder: if the person has both then use the Irish one to travel and if the stay is longer than 90 days then a Residency Permit must be obtained. Good luck. Cita Previa Omaha been slow for years and with the crisis in Ucrania the system just got flooded. Hire a lawyer, for a modest fee they do the process a bit easier.
If the person holds a British passport then the issue is bigger because of Brexit. Again, an immigration lawyer is highly recommended. I did the process myself as I’m married to an EU Citizen and it was extremely painful.
Once again the politicians playing politics with this crisis. invasion of Ukraine is not just about that country but about democracy, freedom . . . It is a moral obligation for all Nato members to contribute to help Ukraine where the people are fighting for their freedom. Spanish Politicians in general should be ashamed of themselves playing politics with this crisis that will possibly jeopardize the entire free world. Shame on them
I think I will stop purchasing at Dia
