I think it is not so much tourism as I heard in Barcelona the issue is Airbnb and vacation rentals that destroying neighborhoods 2017. They were wanting to put a cap on the number of rentals in an area. I know in Portugal this year people were complaining about vacation rentals pushing people out of the neighborhoods in Lisbon and cities around it. Portugal's higher court did say they were technically illegal and the government legislature needs to resolve.

In Arizona we put a timer on our h2o heater so it only turned on when we used it at certain times a day. We did it to save money. We also had a time of day meter to where we had off peak times to use electricity and we would get lower rates at those times higher rate if used during peak times. Do they have similar programs in Spain.

It doesn't matter if you're in Spain or Canada, with immigration and tourism you're going to get the good, the bad and the ugly. As for bullfighting, they should bring it back and replace the bulls with politicians.
