  1. Tourist Tax…. Yes Stu there is a tax in Balearics..Ibiza.. And in my opinion it does little to help the infrastructure there, its still up to local dignitaries as to where its spent, so in the case of Ibiza in my opinion only, the area generating the most tax gets the least spent on it !! So i dont agree on taxing the “hand that feeds” there must be another way ?

  2. Hi Stu, good conversation…I think a lot of people do not realize in a lot of places you already pay a tourist tax, look closely at hotel bills, etc. There are so many countries/cities that have them in place and it helps support infrastructure especially when the population size swells way beyond the regular population size. You go home but locals have to deal with the aftermath usually meaning our taxes and services stretched.

  3. Hi Stu, think that would be a good idea to have peoples holiday photos on your wall. The lady who was asking about owning a dog when she moves to Spain, I don’t think the Valencian reign allows dogs on buses, or on most of the beaches, maybe another idea could be to join in walking the homeless dogs in the many dog shelters all over Spain, they ask for people to foster them as well. 😊

  4. Spains 🇪🇸 predictions are simply Spains 🇪🇸 predictions. Many other countries would disagree regards their own economy's and what's happening around the world. Adding a tourist tax is simply extra money added to the family holiday. Holland Luxembourg and SPAIN 🇪🇸 need to get in line with other countries in the European Union and drop the requirement for a negative pcr test from 3rd countries. For an unvacinated family of 4 in the UK this requires another £240 extra. Pcr is pointless as I know of several people fully vaccinated but test positive before travelling to Spain and say nothing and board the plane. People take infection to Spain and can also bring it back from Spain. Wake up.

  5. I pray the European media will finally exhibit skepticism of public policy and begin asking serious, pointed, uncomfortable and embarrassing questions of European political leadership. The energy crisis is a disaster and was preventable, but bad public policies precipitated it. There has to be accountability. This mistake must not be made again.

  6. Thanks! Always enjoy the info you bring. Will a socialist government affect golden visas?
    Also,
invest in anti-glare coating on your glasses – works wonders for those studio lightreflections

  7. One day Macron cries, after vacationing in the COTE D'AZUR, that the FRENCH will suffer horribly this winter; next day Macron rethinks about opening Spain's pipeline. PRESSURE of the PEOPLE much???

  8. Black shirt + black background = floating head. Looking forward to some other colours. I actually did enjoy the photos of trams in the background. Somehow getting other interesting photos of Spain or Portugal in the background would be great.

  9. In the current situation, I would say it’s a really daft idea, It’s not fun to come to SPAIN anymore. With all the problems at airports and the effort it takes to visit. It’s particularly difficult for the British after Brexit. Just look at what the congestion charge has done to London. Visitor’s from other European Countries may be more willing to accept this additional cost

  10. Hi Stuart watch the show this evening from manilva unfortunately wasn't able to watch the live show as I have a grandson to look after, just a quickie on the availability of ice doesn't seem to be a problem here plenty available here in Lidl's,👍 as for the green screen possibility could be a bit tricky if you don't get the chroma keying spot on🤔 stick with just a colour in the background keep up the good work mate cheers Steve in a hot manilva 🇪🇸😡

  11. As an owner of a Pension on the Camino De Santiago I am opposed to a tourist tax. I am having to raise my rates next year because of the enormous rise in cost of living; forced to add a tourist tax will detour even more my client base. I understand there are infrastructure costs, but I would hope with the amount of politicians in this country they could be more creative.

Furthermore, I see the Camino itself being damaged in my area because in the wet winter months the heavy tractors that use the Camino take their toll on the path. I also suggested to my neighbors, with a little organization we could improve conditions during the off season, by volunteering landscaping and repairing rough areas in our vicinity.

Perhaps Santiago itself has more money to support a tax, but the small business owners on the Camino are not rolling in the dough, we are scraping by just like everyone else.

  12. The VAT is crazy high already. I would not have made a purchase in Spain if I understood how high prior to visiting. Tourist tax would only apply to foreigners? A Spaniard living in Madrid visiting another city for fun is a tourist. Would it apply to them?

  13. Background makes the scene very contrasty and less laid back.
Re banks. I have banked with BBVA for 20 years and they have been great. I can talk to the Director (Manager) whenever I want, in person, phone or email to his desk. Friendly, efficient, personal service. And the UK? I think not….

  14. Sometimes I really miss the old video formats. There are so many topic you cover in one and it feels like you just dont cover interesting topic enough on these lives. Great videos as always I just wish there was more videos with 1 topic only.

  15. Socialists doesn't like businesses and wealth so it has sense that they want to destroy tourism industry double taxing the tourists, because remember, everyone pay IVA tax, every time you buy something in this country wherever you come from you will pay taxes, so this is double taxing, BAD IDEA, as always

  16. Hi Stu Spain needs to come into the 21 century, three hour lunch breaks ridiculous, you don't need more civil servants. Spain needs civil servants to be productive, if they aren't then find a way to get rid of them. If this inefficiency is still tolerated by the public then the fault lies there!

  17. I'd say sock it to 'em, starting at 50€ a day! They don't vote in Spain, so who there would care? I'm a tourist, and I'd pay it.

The minority misbehave, but this is a case where the innocent must suffer with the guilty, as the problems caused by excessive tourism go far, far beyond a few people misbehaving. If it causes tourists to not go to Spain, isn't that what's wanted anyway, so that neighborhoods don't get overwhelmed by partygoers and high-priced Airbnb's?
